First time out (sort of)

Post by Wendy »

I'm still working up the courage to go out in public dressed, but recently I decided to 'partially' dress up to go out.

The mrs. wasn't home, so I decided to dress up to go shovel the front walk. Some of the snow had melted, so I just had to sweep the snow off the front walk, from our door to the sidewalk.

Anyways, I wore one of the wife's old pants, sweater, put on lipstick, stick on nails, and I even wore one of her jackets. The only thing male was my shoes, as I wasn't willing to get my new pumps dirty.

So out I went to shovel the walk. It was dark, so I doubt my neighbours saw me. A car did drive by, but I don't think they people in the car even bothered to look up.

It was exciting, even if it was for a short period of time.

The only thing missing was a wig, but I am slowly working on that.

Perhaps next time I can stay out for abit longer !

Wendy,

First the sidewalk, and then -- the world!!! *-* Congratulations on your first time getting out. Don't be afraid to take your place in the sun.

sounds like fun Wendy. I did something similar a couple of weeks ago.

Did you find that physical work, sweat and etc feels different en femme? I sure did.

Wendy,
Like our sister Angie, said first the sidewalk then the world!!! BUT... take it in small steps. Some of us recommend just getting dressed and going for a drive in the evening or at night, then you can graduate to a quick walk in a park ("case the joint first") where you feel safe. Then maybe a daylight drive and a ride through the "drive-thru." All the time seeking a local support group.
Keep us posted on how it goes.

Hi Wendy!

I did the same thing once. I put on forms and a puffy jacket. Naturally there were two of my neighbors, who are never outside, who decided to talk to each other and sort of ruined my fun time. :)

I'm so happy for you. That's a big step! :)

Thanks for the kind words. I am contemplating on taking a drive dressed (in one of her pants and sweater). We have a detached garage and our neighbour across the alley can see right into our back yard, and since I don't have a wig yet I don't want them spotting me in a dress.

But just like you girls said, small steps !

Wendy,

I used to wear a skirt under my pants, carry the heels in a bag, and when I got in the car, stripped off the pants and changed shoes. Just a thought.

Wendy, I posted this somewhere else but the more I think about it it was sort of funny. Couple of weeks ago I put our trash our (big can with wheels) anyway they picked it up on Tuesday morning. I happened to be trying on some skirts I had bought and was checking them out in the mirror when the wind really picked up and I glanced outside just in time to see my trashcan sailing down the street. I grabbed a coat and out the door I went, 3" heels, tight skirt and all. Two of my neighbors just happened to be out doing the same thing (chasing their trash cans, not crossdressed    ). They evidently saw this "damsel in distress" running down the street in heels, (trying to run like a girl) and both decided to help "her" recapture her wayward trashcan first! Fortunately I got to it before they did and triumphantly began dragging it back to my house. They stopped and as they were returning to their own chase one of them yelled over the howling wind, "Nice catch, Honey!!" I just smiled and waved . And pulled my trophy back to the house, went inside and prmptly fell out on the floor, laughing!!!
Who says we can't have fun at this!!??

Donna, that sounds like a good plan. My first step would be to wear pants (I can walk from the house to the garage) in my male shoes, and like you mentioned put the pumps in a plastic bag. When I get into the garage I can then change into my pumps.

Virginia, I do remember you posting that story, too funny !
