Maturing Merinda

Hi girls ,

A few of you will be aware that a schoolgirl party is being organized for Melbourne ( Aust ) CDers for around May 1 2005.

Today I went shopping at savers and purchased another uniform to possibly wear on the day , when I tried it on for size I felt a totally negative reaction .
I felt like I'd stepped backwards in my crossdressing , I felt like I was putting myself way back in the past and quickly took the uniform off .

The problem is that Merinda has matured and moved forward on to greater things this year and dont want to go back in time , I will wear one of my normal uniforms to the function but I think thats about the end of it.

I am declaring that Merinda will most likely finish school later this year , the last schoolgirl photos will be taken during the year .

Yes, Merinda is becoming a young woman. Your interests are starting to move beyond school girl parties. Probably beyond nurse parties, cheerleader parties (if they even have those in Australia???), and fetish-costume parties in general?

You're not the only one, girl. Unless a person really has a fetish for those costumes, or one goes to those parties in order to meet romantic interests (not my thing, but I'm speaking honestly about several people I now), the truth is that most of us eventually tire of those contrived costumes and theme-related support group activities.

This fact has killed more than one support group that I've belonged to. Unless the group figures out how to move onward to include some activities of lasting interest, it eventually loses the "oldies" who provide the social glue to merge the newbies into the group.

Because after a while, crossdressing ceases to be something to do in and of itself. Crossdressing is simply getting dressed--albeit with a special twist. Those costume parties, ironically, encourage us to grow up, by teaching us that when we crossdress, we have a choice of styles to choose from, some of which are appropriate for evening parties, others for daytime parties, for casual socializing, for shopping, etc. If we're not aware of this natural growth, we may get all dressed up in new clothes that looked great in the store or catalogue, only to think to ourselves, "Now what do I do?"

So, when you're at the school girl party, talk to some of your friends there, people that you've known a while. Talk to them about their other interests. Is there anything that several of you would enjoy doing, that could be done dressed as (ordinary) women. Care to ride that new light rail line, anyone?

Rikki is so right. You are becoming a young woman, a transgendered woman. As GGs have a kind of pride when they see a young girl grow into a woman I empathize when I see a post like this. I want to welcome you to your next level of being a transgendered gal. I am so proud and happy for you.

I'm so proud of you Merinda because you are really starting to accept you for you. You put on the uniform and for whatever reason you decided, "No. Not for me." I do take it as a sign of maturity as a transgendered person and growth a person.

I also believe this is where our SOs start turning the corner too with their acceptance of who we are. I believe once we accept that our dressing is not just for fun and something we need to do to be true to ourselves, our spouses look at our TG'd side differently. I'm saying they automatically go, "It's so clear to me now!" I'm just feel it's when they start to accept us because they start seeing this is who we are, not a "thing" we do.

We can't ever be sure you wearing uniforms will stop forever (though it might), but it's not significant anymore. You are more important than what you wear now. The clothes are a paintbrush, but you are the canvas. Your mind is starting to rule your dress, your behavior, and your self acceptance and awareness. I am just beaming with pride for you.

Wow. lol... I'm totally smiling and I also wish I could give you a real life hug right now Merinda. I'd take you out for dinner if I lived in Australia. You have grown up in front of the forum family and I just think it's great, beautiful, and wonderful!!!!

I reckon finally getting out and meeting other Tgirls in real life has been an education and enabled this bit of maturing by letting you expand your dressing to new levels.

You have hit the nail on the head Donna , I think the social outings has made me feel like a girl who at of the age of starting to go out to the nightclub scene.

I will still enjoy the next outing , I will probably wear the winter uniform set that you saw in my photos last year .

I will have to think up some photographic projects to finish off my school days before the end of the year , December 16 is the last day of the school year.
Maybe a graduation certificate with my photo on it or something similar , I think its more appropriate to see the school year out rather than pull out suddenly.

I'm glad to read of your going out and expanding your horizons.

The diploma with your picture on it sounds like a wonderful momento of Merinda graduating to a new level.

I hope you have a great time at the May schoolgirl outing - your uniform is the genuine item, so you might get the best schoolgirl prize.

I would suggest that you hold on to a uniform or two after graduation, for possible "school reunions".

We all hope you graduate with honors.

Just to let you know that I have backflipped on my decission.

Due to the fact that the 2 photo projects undertaken to complete this phase of my crossdressing have gone horribly wrong I conclude " fate " is controlling my destiny.

Please disregard my opening thread on this matter

I cannot continue the schoolgirl themes forever but " fate " is preventing me from finalizing .

I have decided that the completion date for schoolgirl themes has been moved to November 2007 , this in alignment with my real school years at secondary school ( started in year ending in 3 and finishing in a year ending in 7 ) .

after this date all schoolgirl items will be stored for nostalgic purposes only.

Hi Lorna ,

I was actually presented with a graduation certificate at my last social event (thanks to Donna T ) .

I had 2 special photosessions attempted to finalize my schoolgirl days but unfortunatly one had a spanner thrown in at the last moment and the other had major photodraphic problems.

So I decided that I need more time

I have given myself a maximum time to complete any unfinished work or to explore any new idea's that present themselves.

I am holding on to the graduation certificate and I will hold a proper presentation when the time comes.

I may be finished earlier than Nov 07 but that will depend on things going right for me , one of the photosessions was to be a group shot , I dont know if this opportunity will be available again as I have to wait for the right conditions and that could take time.
