TWC wigs?
Hi all,
I would like to ask forum members here if anyone has had any experiences buying wigs from TWC - The Wig Company.
I signed up for their catalog on their website a long time ago, got catalogs regularly but never bought anything.
The latest catalog has large enough discounts to entice me to order a couple of them ($29 US and under).
I would like to try some different styles and this looks like a good chance if the quality is decent.
I have read positive posts about Paula Young and I have 2 nice wigs from there, including the one in my current avatar picture. I ordered from one of their catalogs when the discounts got enticing enough.
I have asked on another form and so far there the recommendations are running toward Beauty Trends and Ebay.
The way it looks to me now, I have a few $29 wigs marked in the catalog, but I'm waiting for more reports on quality and service before phoning in and ordering from TWC.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Is that wigs.com?

The website is actually
http://www.twcwigs.com/
They don't have direct online ordering or a display of individual wigs. They sell through a catalog, with mail or phone order.
This latest catalog has discounts that have finally reached my cheapskate price point, but I don't want to get ripped off.
Thanks for the reply.

Hi Jadeanne
I've never ordered from TWC but think that I had a catalog of theirs once and remember that they were recognizable names of designers that they sold. Are the wigs clearance, or discontinued or something similar to warrant the deep discounts?
I have found that often on many sites that the wigs with the largest discount (lowest price) have a very restricted color selection and I have sometimes purchased them to try a particular color or style without investing too much moola.
I've purchased several wigs (many) from Beauty Trends and find them to be of good quality, They advertise Revlon and Adolpho wigs but I cannot find another site on the internet which sells the wigs they have (at least not using the same style name).
I've purchased from Paula Young as well and like their quality, prices and the fact that I can receive the purchases in less than a week, usually.
Also purchased from a few other places and often browse their clearance areas for bargains.

Hi Connie,
Thanks for your reply.
The catalog I received from TWC is apparently their standard Summer 2005 catalog, but has an additional customized front and back cover that has a discounted price list for each wig in the regular catalog.
I've been on their mailing list for probably 2 years and never ordered anything yet. Those discounted prices are likely given to entice me to finally buy something from them.
I remember getting a catalog from Paula Young that was for first time buyers only when I didn't buy anything from from then yet. I bought my 2 Paula Young wigs (Sapphire and Brussells styles) from that catalog for lower prices than I ever saw for those styles before or since.
I think this TWC catalog is a similar enticement to start buying from them. Depending on feedback from here and another forum, I will likely take advantage of the one-time low prices and get a couple more wigs.
Thanks again,
Jadeanne

TWC Wigs
Hi Jadeanne,
I have purchased many wigs from TWC and have been generally happy with them. The reason I like them is that they have quite a few wigs with a large cap size. However, too many of their wigs are too short for CDs to wear-they will have coverage problems. One of the great things about buying wigs through a catalouge is that they are returnable. My avatar picture is with a TWC wig.
Hugs,
Rita

I decided on 2 TWC wigs and I will be phoning in the order on Monday.
Rita,
The Devotion style was one of my finalists in the long hair/big hair category, but the ultimate choice was Mardi. My other choice will be a midlength Just Gorgeous style.
I have 2 color choices for each style, in the light blonde range.
I have to get a large size because I'm thick between my ears
.
I don't have any photo sessions planned, but I will probably be wearing at least one of the new wigs at my next one.

Well, I phoned in the order on Monday night.
They have a phone order only line and they took my order in a professional manner, the 2 wigs and 2 portable stands. They said I should receive them by Friday.
When I got home from work today, the package was waiting for me. That was nice timely shipping.
I am pleased with the quality of the wigs. Both fit well and I think they look good.
The only bad point is that they didn't pack both wig stands
. So next I will phone customer service and see how they are on shipping the missing stand.
Jadeanne
PS
The package was labelled discreetly. It had the TWC logo, but not the company name, just the address.
