Well, as my wife and I live in different states, I bought her a plane ticket to come out here.
Now that might sound like it is for me but the wife has all the kids still in the house which all of my kids are grown plus our granddaugher. Well she has been having a hard time with my son of late and keeps the granddaughter most of the time when she is home. I decided it was time to have her relax and take a vacation.
Gee
What have you done for your GF or Wife Today?

A year ago, on our twentieth anniversary I bought her a 3 stone diamond ring. Through a mixup with the jewler & lots of angst (long story), we got a new ring that was bigger, costing 5x more.
I went overseas this winter and got her Emerald earrings for her newly repierced ears. For Valentines day it was (not huge but tasteful) diamond studs. This anniversary (the other day) it was Sapphire studs with small diamond chips on top - I bought pastries for breakfast & sparkling cider as a surprise. I later took the family out to dinner.
I also bought her some teak chairs for our dining room - she's wanted some for awhile.
No, I'm not trying to buy her affection
but I do try to show her I love & care after 21 years.
I hope to see if we can talk more about my feelings this summer (she has summer off after 9 months of long work). Right now it's still Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

Hi Anne,
You're right buying expensive gifts are nice and you're also right about buying a woman's love. It can be done, but it's temporary and very empty. From what my women friends have told me they would rather have their husbands/boyfriends make them something special or take them someplace as a surprise that was more romantic than expensive. They'd like their SOs to do something spontaneous that may be something that the woman always wanted to do, but just didn't. They'd rather hear loving words from them that they know are hard for their guys to say. Gifts are wonderful! A caring moment is priceless.
The last thing that you did Anne seemed to wrap all of those in to one.

I named this thread "What Have You Done For Your Wife Today", so we'd keep an account of what we've done today and not things we've done in the past.
Please everyone fight the urge, I beg of you, to not turn this into all the things you've done for your SO, other than today or a few days ago like Anne did. Goodness knows if you've been married or dating long enough I'm sure you have a long list of things.
