A couple weeks ago I ordered something from Frederick's, their Four-Pad Panty Girdle. I didn't pay extra for special shipping, so it didn't come till Monday. I'm a little disappointed. It seems to look okay if I use either the hip pads OR the butt pads, but not with both. Maybe I should have spent a little more for something made for people like us. :(

Yesterday, my wife and I went to a thrift store and found some nice things:

For her, some books and 2 holiday glasses.

For me, 2 dresses - they are desribed in my posts yesterday and today in the "What Are You Wearing Today" thread, and a tan embroidered peasant blouse.

For us, a brand new with the tags still attached turquoise Lorraine nylon nightgown. My wife gets to wear it first.

Today,

We went to 2 thrift stores. We got nothing from the first, then after we were done with the rest of our shopping, we went into the second one on my wife's suggestion since we were driving by.

I got one thing, but I rank it as my best find of the year so far. It's a super fancy 2 piece pink floral square dance dress with more lace than I have ever seen before and it was $6. That's definitely on the outfit list for my next photo session, hopefully in a few weeks.

Jadeanne,
Must have been a good week shopping for all of us. I went to our local Goodwill and found several nice things. Two long sleeve, silk blouses, one red and one blue and they fix perfectly and look brand new. A low cut purple "gausey" top, very sexy that will go great with a pair of white, almost see-through slacks I found. A tan print, silk wrap skirt and a new with tags, Vasserette slip and a mini purple slip. Some days are just better than others shopping, but when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping!

Hi all,

Virginia,

I'm glad you found some bargains. They are there if you look hard enough and long enough.

Donna and Beauty,

We are rearranging things in the room I use for photo sessions and I just ordered some underpinnings (petticoat and pettipants) for the square dance dress. The label inside says it was made by Fun & Fancy Originals. A little Google research brought up some online square dance stores with some of their other creations, and they sure are purty and in the price range of $75 - 100.

This afternoon after church, my wife and I stopped at a few places, including another thrift store. I got a gold metallic top for $3 with store tags still on it.

I'm going to start another thread on what i have ordered by phone, catalog, or online.

Just put on my first strapless bra. Came from Frischman's. 'Goddess' brand - 40B. Fits me and my forms perfectly. Thrill.

Couldn't resist joining this delightfully long thread.

Hugs,
Willy

Just a pair of black flat shoes.

Sorry girls - as much as we all love our heels, I have to say that I love the fact that flats are back in style!

Remember you're talking to a NYC girl here!! Here in NYC we do a LOT of walking... especially if the weather is nice!!

Only non-NYers are allowed to take cabs & subways without being considered 'lazy"... but we native NYers are used to walking EVERYWHERE.

Another successful hunt!!! I had a few minutes today and stopped by Goodwill. Immediately found a nice pair of walking shorts, then a brand new really sexy, black bra, still had the tags on it, Olga - one of my favorties and in my size. Then I found a black and white vertical strips. rayon/silk blouse. long sleeve and a mini-slip that goes great under a mini. Not bad for about ten minutes.

In between things today, I visited Discount Shoe Warehouse. I found a pair or white/silver Skechers sneakers, originally $44.89, marked down 70%. They're the first totally flat shoes I've bought in a couple of years. Very cool.
