going to provincetown

Post by Absaroka »

I will be going to Provincetown Mass in a few weeks with my wife. I am not out, even to her. Any suggestions for cd related events there we might go to in an effort to at least get her reaction to other men like this?

She is very comfortable with gay men so drag shows might be fun-she likes those also

Andrea, You realize that is where the Fantasia Fair is held each year??!! It is the oldest and longest running "crossdressers" gathering in the country. It runs from Oct 16 -23. YOu can go to their site, I believe it's Fantasiafair.org. They list all the places to visit and most are very TG friendly, including Bed and Breakfast and motels.
Have a ball and keep us posted.

Andrea,

Virginia makes a great point. If you go to the Fantasia Fair website link I have posted http://www.fantasiafair.org/home/pricing/stay.htm you will see a list of the TG/CD friendly inns. This is a bit of a misnomer, however, as all of Provincetown is GBLT friendly. Most of the businesses are owned and/or operated by GBLT persons. It will be an experience for you and your wife if you have not been there before.

Be sure to check out the "Crown & Anchor Caberet"

Enjoy,

Paige

Thanks ladies,

I've been to Provincetown a number of times and have always really enjoyed it although my primary orientation in the past has always been the beach, the dunes, whale watching, and looking at all the cats on everyones porch. Plus the older style of architecture. It is really a charming place.

We will be staying with friends. They too are into drag but somehow it is different when a straight man does it. Isn't that strange....not to mention that they are theatre people and the whole drag thing for them is more about performance and portrayal than other stuff. The whole trouble with letting anyone know is that I can't really do that and count on my wife not knowing. I am hoping to scope out her feelings about all this a bit more on the vacation.

I had another great idea. For those of you who are in the rooms, do you know of any particularly CD friendly meetings in Provincetown? I realize that this is a bit of a silly question since Provincetown is friendly and the rooms are friendly but wondering if there is any one meeting in particular.

Thanks

Andrea, As I posted, Fantisiafair is billed as the longest running annual
event for crossdressers in the US. It is scheduled this year for October 16 -23. Don't know when you are planning on going, but if you have friends there I am sure they are familiar with it.

Thanks Virginia. We will be there in a few weeks. I have looked up some stuff about fantaisa fair but at this point I am mostly thinking of it as a topic of conversation with our hosts, who I am sure are familiar with it

It was a great trip although it was all nature and outdoor stuff-whale watching and riding waves at the beach. We did go to the Crown and Anchor one night where a GG was singing quite well. Funny how even there with drag queens running around handing out flyers CDing never even came up as a topic of conversation. I had hoped it would.

Were you hoping to get an indication from her on how she feels about CDers in response to the handouts?

Maybe you should have said that it looked like fun, and that you might like to try it sometime.

she already knows I would like to try it sometime. What she doesn't know is just how often I do it. Everyday if I have the day alone, which is often when the kids are in school. She thinks it is just an occaisional pair of panties, which it was when we first married
