Crossdressing is healthy

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Patricia, I might add that for me at least, when an SO contributes it is like going to "The Source." Granted we may not always like to hear what you say or agree with you, but there is no better source of information than an SO's input!

Zippy needs to lose a few...

Steffie: *-* Congratulations on your weight loss!! *-*

For too many years I've longed for my high school weight of 170 pounds. At 6'1", 170 was easy to live with. Unfortunately, I've weighed in at 255 #-o pounds for too many years now. An attack of chronic pancreatitis earlier this year has forced me to start watching my diet more strictly, and I'm down about ten pounds, to 245. Now, if only I can make 70 more disappear. [-o<

Zippy,

Thanks. Remember something about weight loss: it's like a journey: one step at a time. Plus any diet predicated on exercise and good nutrition will akways lead to geet results. Just go 10 lbs at a time (that's what I'm doing). Today it's 245 (from 255). Before you know it, you'll be down to 230 or so and then 220's, etc. Good job so far and good luck!

Crossdressing is healthy

Post by Mary Jane Thomas »

I loved reading this thread. My feeling on this subject is that CDing is definitely healthy because it is natural to acclimate our true selves. The incentive to look better is a nice side benefit. But for me it is about satisfying that deeper need to come to grips with who I am.

I won't go back thru my history here, I just did that in my intro post. But I feel that weight gain is all about eating. Sorry exercise freaks. I love to jog, but at 500 calories/hour a slice of pizza negates it all. I Still do it, but food is the key for me. And eating to the degree of weight gain is really a form of substance abuse.

And why do we do that? For me, I wonder if it is because of years of pushing the CD out of my consciousness. Pushing that feeling away with food (or drugs or alcholol) can take a toll and add up.

Don't mean to play pop psych here, but that is what I have found anyway.

For me Mary Jane, when I was younger I was always skinny, and could eat and eat and eat, and not gain a pound. Thus it became a habit of eating more than needed, definitely a habit that is hard to break.

Donna

I guess everyone is different. Some have trouble when their metabolism slows down, others with emotional eating. Unlike you I was not skinny when I was young, not obese either. I keep coming back to some emotional reason but I don't want to suggest the same is true for others since I don't even know it is true for me! I sometimes wonder if my search for a CD aspect of this problem is a cop out.

Good luck breaking your habit!
