How to buy pantyhose...

Post by Mandy Swag »

Hello all...

I was looking at Pantyhose (online) and looking at sizes... It appears that I need Q sized, but it only says that it goes up to 6'0"... a little problem (I am 6'6". Now do they make (store bought, not online) a pantyhose for "taller" women? Also when you go to the store how do you actually deal with the buying pantyhose deal? I.e. do you try and disguise it etc.? What about panties and bras?

Hi Mandy,

I just always buy the taller size hose. Buying queen size helps gals who can't fit comfortably into the hose because there isn't enough material. You'll have to do trial and error until you find the right fit for you. Different brands will yield different results too.

I'm sure of the other ladies here will give you excellent advice about buying things at real stores.

Hi Mandy,
First as you know the sizes for panty hose are listed on the back of the package. There are both "tall" and "queen size" and I would assume someone makes a "tall - queen size" combined. If you are not adverse to shopping in more upscale stores, you are more likely to find the size you seek. Don't be embarrassed by looking through the display either. If you are tall it can be assumed that you SO is also tall so if that is a concern don't worry about it. The more upscale stores will usually have a better display. You can grab a salesclerk (not literally) and say, "My wife is "x" tall and asked me to get her some hose, what would be the correct size?"
They will just think you are sweet to be shopping for your spouse!
AS for bras, I don't want to over simplify but you take a tape measure and find the fullest size of your chest, ie 40" and that is the band size of the bra. The cupsize will usually range from a small = A to well I think I have seen "EEE" anyway you will find most, not all but most women and us "CD'ers" do not want to draw attention to ourselves will usually fall into the "B" or "C" cup size, especially if you are tall so you look for a "40-B"
Remember there are four basic things we need to have: 1. Proper color foundation (make-up) 2. A nice (not cheap) wig. 3. A nice smile 4. A properly fitted and formed bra!
Good luck and keep the faith!

Hello Mandy,
Try ordering a catolog from onehanesplace.com. They have a nice selection of stockings and a wonderful size chart that may help you, (--) Carol Ann
