This past Sunday I had some errands to run, so I decided to make it a girl's day out, so to speak. After picking up a couple of books at the local Borders, I stopped by the craft store and grocery store to pick up a few things.
Later that day, I spent the day with my SO and her daughter out shopping at the local mall while presenting as female. It was a wonderful experience and the salepeople were quite helpful. As I believe another lady on the forums had done, I asked my SO to note any pointing or outright stares. She only noticed one barista at the coffee counter do a double take.
I'm spending about a quarter of my time in female mode these days and have grown increasingly comfortable with doing so. As I've said before, I think the key is to dress to blend. In this way, you may "pass" or folks might just not care. Either way, I'm just happy to pass under the radar.
