Transgendered DVD Rentals

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

What? I can't believe this. No one has mentioned the classic Tootsie?

I like it when Bill Murray first sees Hoffman in drag, he's like, "Mom?"

Whoever mentioned Sorority Boys, yeah I've seen it. And I own the DVD as well as All the Queen's Men.
Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes

Nobody has mentioned Different for Girls ? Old movie now but worth while.

One of those movies you find yourself thinking about for a long time after it is finished.

Some of the story seems a little unnecessary to me but on the whole I found it entertaining, interesting and very informative. I have a pet hate of GG's playing the female TS role so I loved Steven MacKintosh as Kim. She was very obviously a TS but still beautifully feminine and graceful.

Not sure why Paul seems to have had a crush on Kim even in their school days though - it is never really explained. Perhaps one of you girls have the answer to that one.

Any opinions?

Hi Jan ! :)

Different for girls is absolutely one of my favorite TS movies and I´ve seen it 3-4 times. I totally agree with you about GGs as TS girls in the movies. That´s what makes Different for girls different :) Kim is obviously a post-op woman and quite passable but there´s something in her behavior that makes this movie so fascinating.
I´ve also wondered why Paul gets so attracted to Kim. One reason might be their close friendship at school. It took a lot of guts from Paul to defend his friend when he was attacked in that shower scene. Maybe Paul is bisexual and has always been attracted to Kim. Her sex-change made their relationship possible. Anyway it´s a great movie!

I liked Hedwig

Beauty,I think Hedwig is worth renting. I saw the play in a little theater in Hartford and the audience had a fair share of GLBT's. The soundtrack album is good. Some rock, some ballads but it's the lyrics that are great . "Wicked little town" is my theme song. It speaks to me. "Midnight Radio" is another great song. Hope you like it.Big hugs.

PS. I just saw "Bad education" by Spanish director Pedro Almodovar. I like his movies. This one is his most raw and controversial. It deals with Priests and molestation and how the children who were molested grow up.There are some gay love scenes and the main character is a CDer. It's not for everyone but it's worth reading subtitles. There is a real twist at the end.
