3" and lower. I generally prefer 2 & 1/2 to 3 inch heels. I have no problem walking naturally in them at that height. Actually, if they are too low, they don't feel comfortable to me. Since I'm 6'1", anything higher would make me just TOO tall!! And when I dress, the goal is to blend in and not attract undue attention.

Hi there.
Just checking in.
I'm glad I found that poll now. The results have been really interesting.
I wonder if I should have worded it differently. I do have heels that are collecting dust that are 5". I don't even wear them for play, but I still love the way they look.
It's just that they aren't practical anymore for me to wear. I would wear them as an extension of me before and now I feel they are an extension of who I was and they are nice enough that I'm not throwing them out.
Thanks for everyone being so honest and open. This forum rocks and you're all why!

In all these fun little details, that at the end of the day don't really matter, I seem to go backwards from everyone else.
Heel height is no exception. In my closet days, shoes weren't that important. I'd usually go barefoot. And since I never went out in public dressed, and never tried to put it all together and look like a woman in the mirror, it didn't matter.
So my feet were used to flats, such as most men's shoes.
But about the time that I first went out dressed, my arches went from bad to worse. In flats, I have to wear prescription arch supports. But when I wear heels, I don't need them.
Go figger!
But at first, my feet could only walk in 2" heels or less. Gradually, they've gotten used to higher and higher heels. Today, 4" spikes (my highest) are awkward but doable. They're at the end of my "official tranny" boots--a pair of soft black pigskin over the knee boots that I bought at Glamour Boutique here in Los Angeles. I've worn them out in public a couple of times--and gotten compliments from GGs! But I wouldn't hike Mt. Wilson in them just yet.

Love Heels!
I love my Heels and the way my legs feel covered with my thigh highs. I generally prefer 2 to 3 inch heels. I have no problem walking naturally in them at that height.
I believe that all of us have a little feminine in us. The freedom to chose how we like to dress either masculine or feminine is a private feeling that anyone can enjoy!

I can deal in about a 1.5-2" . My most high heeled shoes are 3 inches and its just another reminder about how painful it is to be a woman. I wore those out one nite (sic) and literally thought I was dying. My feet hurt sooooo bad I swore I'd never wear 'em again. But it cost to be the boss because the payoff on the calf muscle was worth it. They really 'jack you up' so to say. But flats are so much more practical, a nice pair of conservative mules will work.

I prefer lower heels. One or two inches, spikes or "chunky" heels. Fine for around the house, no issue with stairs or anything. Three inch spikes were what I admired as a kid, and they are fun to wear, but you have to be more careful. Four inch? I have two pairs. After I started watching "Sex and the City" I decided "If THEY can do it, I can TOO!"
Four inch are not as much fun as three inch, you REALLY have to be careful and they are hard on your feet and legs. So call it a Challenge I met!
BTW, I don't go out en femme.

Just started dressing completely in the last year, after forty years in the closet.
I have three pairs of 3" heels and a pair of 4" (my first shoes).
No trouble walking once you get used to the feel of them.
At six foot two, I don't need the extra height but with a size 14 foot they were all I could find.
Still looking for a black casual flat (or 1" pair).
Hugs

How did I miss this thread!!!??? Anyway, I love heels, actually I have found as hard as it may be to believe, after a workout, primarily doing squats, I can put on 3" - 4" heels and walk around and it makes my legs feel great!! We often hear from GG's about how great it is to take off their heels or how much they hurt their feet, etc. and I don't doubt it, but.... men, in general, have stronger legs and stronger ankles thus it would appear that we can cope better with heels and yes, it does make our legs look better too. I do however think that once you get into the 5" height, not only does the feminine appearance begin to suffer, but so does the ability to walk correctly and no one would wear those in public because of the almost guaranteed unwanted attention. Well some of us may!!!
I also have found that, and I am sure a lot of you too, that you get what you pay for!!!! I have a pair of $100.00+ 4'' heels and I think I could walk in them all day and not be uncomfortable. I have some 3" that hurt after the first 10 minutes - yes I paid very little for them, but they look nice!
Walk on girls, shoulders back, head up and smile!

I prefer wearing 2" heels most of the time unless I'm going out somewhere where I know I don't have to walk too far. Otherwise 2" or lower is the most comfortable to walk in and a 'must' for those shopping trips!. In summer, I wear mainly flats, (flip flops or sandals) again mostly for comfort. Nice heels are definitely sexier and do make your legs look more shapely but I'm not one to suffer the agony of trying to balance on something that gives me vertigo!

I have a pair that are 4" and I love them. They're cute little strappy things, and they feel sooooooo good.
Both my pumps are 3 1/2".
Gasp! Yes, it's true...I only have three pair of shoes.
Hugs,
Kyra

Most of my shoes are 4"..I do have a couple 2"...Either I'm lucky or just used to them, but I walk comfortably in the 4" ones.....I'm short too, 5'6", so still doesn't make me overly tall...Almost all my shoes are strappy dress sandals as pumps hurt my feet...
