Dont stand in the one place

Post by Merinda »

Hi ladies,

I was recently writing down a few ideas for future outings , I have about 14 ideas so far that range from shopping centre outings to going to a fun park or the zoo etc .
I was looking at the possibilities for next year and sorting good from bad ideas , it then hit me !

With all the advice around on public outings there is one point that I think has been overlooked - " KEEP MOVING " , if you are in a crowded situation you would be far less likely to be confronted on the move rather than seated near other static people.

The reason I've mentioned this is because I was going to catch the train to the city , but I thought that being confined in a rail carriage for 1/2 hour with the public would not be a good idea.

But, maybe you could combine both moving yourself plus the carriage(s): Get off at every station and take the next following train.

Disadvantage: takes much longer

Advantage: you'll move every 3-5 minutes and reach a greater public :)

Best

Hi Xenia ,

Our trains run at around 20 minute intervals and I am 15 stations from the city , add another 4 stations if the train goes through the underground loop.
This would make a 25-30 minute trip about 7 hours long and also I would be in a 20 minute static possition on every rail platform.

I think the best way to do this trip would be to drive in to the city and park in a multi car park , then I can walk the streets and look through the shops .
The parking attendant would be the only person I need contact with.

Hi Merinda,

I think you are likely to get noticed especially if you are on your own.
But how about doing it with one or two Rg's, and during the morning / evening rush. People will be too preoccupied with their journey then to even notice you, I think.

At my peak of activity, I came to the point where being seen didn't bother me at all. But I did notice that being on my own in a quiet street was when I was most likely to be read. The same street in rush hour was when I could walk unseen.

7 hours is definitely too long, I agree.
I was kidding of course, but seems that many people's complaints about public/local traffic have some truth :)

Other way round: if local communications had more frequent (i.e. T*-friendly) schedules we would have less global warming.
