Last night I got dressed and went to my training partners house - she and her SO had gone to watch UVa slaughter Temple - she wanted me to let her dogs out for a while. That done I came back home and began watching the "Blacksburg Slaughter!' At half time I drove down to The Park (our only GBLT hangout) to take them the information on the Novemeber 20 "Transgender Day of Rememberance." Tim, the "progam director" remembered me and said "hello Virginia" and thanked me for bringing information for him. As I turned to leave he asked why I was not going to stay and I just smiled and said "Sorry, I am in the middle of an orgy!" He and the three others behind the counter burst out laughing and Tim said, "Great, take lots of pictures!" we all laughted and I came home to watch the rest of the "blood letting" of Va. Tech.
The down side of the club is, and I am sure many of you experience the same thing - smoke!! I have to wash all my clothes and my hair and Virginia's hair each time I go in there anyway that's my exciting evening!

Hi Virginia--
Oh, I see. "The Park" is the name of a bar. A person usually has fun AT the park, and I wondered if you knew some smaller parks that had learned how to walk about...a little bantering with the bar staff is good for keeping the day lively. But who won the slugfest at Blacksburg?
It's been four years since the no-smoking laws for bars went into effect here (at least that long.) The clubs are truly smoke-free now. I didn't know how much I'd appreciate that until it actually happened. There's those rainy nights, though, where it's not much fun to go outside. I'm glad I'm not a smoker any more, but I think even those that do smoke appreciate not having the cloud of old smoke lingering around all night.

Well Miami ranked #5 slaughtered #3 Va. Tech. I think the Park is considered a private club so smoking is allowed.
All right Sis back it down a notch - In this ultra-conservative conclave in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western Virginia we struggle for things to do, especially if one does not fit the button - down holy-roller Jerry Falwell view of the world!
We can't all be from that liberal bastogune up north!!! (Canada is it??)You see what happens to people who speak French too long don't you?
Love,
Virginia

Hi Virginia,
Despite the smoke, sounds like you still had a fun evening.
As a side note to your story, believe it or not I actually went to the school that was slaughtered in your state (Temple) when I was an undergrad. Like a lot of Philadelphians at the time though, I still followed Penn State more. I saw way too many of those slaughters at Temple for a lot of years to continue stomaching those defeats. lol

I can't do that. No fun there. I need excitement.
Cranking it up a notch now. You don't have the slightest clue how much I would like some shots at Jerry Falwell. Bring him on Sis. I would love to put some holes in his view of the world. It would make my day.
I am sure I could find lots to enjoy in a place like Roanoke Virginia.
Up here in western Canada we have a saying about that. but I will not go there. You also wrote:You see what happens to people who speak French too long don't you?

Heh, okay, okay. I know what happens (and, as a French-Canadian, I've heard them all); people who speak French too long become brilliant social theorists.
Virginia,
Sounds like you had fun with the Park, indeed. Good for you! Please send my warmest regards to Reverend Falwell.
Love,
CJ

re the grass being green
A while ago I heard this about the green grass. "Grass is greenest where it's watered". Works for me! :-)
