I just wanted to see if there are any "Lost" fans out there... I think the show is fantastic. I'm still a little weirded out by last nights show. It was one of those bitter sweet episodes...
When the show first aired, I thought the idea was kind of dumb. Really, what could you do with a bunch of people stranded on an island. I figured that in one season they would run out of ideas. There was no way that they could come up with anything good enough to possibly keep you interested. Boy was I wrong... Whenever I watch the show, it makes me feel like I'm riding a rollercoaster in the dark.
If you have never watched a show before, give it a try. It will get you hooked...
Hi Sharon,
You know the old saying "different strokes for different folks!" I have never seen the show, either. With my new responsibility of taking care of my training partenrs mother, when I get home at night all I want to do is visit with my sisters here for a few minutes. Then off to bed. I hardly even turn the TV on much any more!
Love,
Virginia
First star to the right, then straight on 'till mornin!
I saw the first season and have been tapeing the show this season unfortantanly I have not had time to watch them. I would like as I think it is one of those show with a REALLY good story line.
I agree with you, Sharon - - at first I thought the series wouldn't last a year with that story line, and then I started to watch it during the summer reruns. Now I'm 'hooked' - but don't like to endure those darn commercials, nor the dh's channel-surfing! ::hmpf::
Now, the dh tapes the shows I want to see - while I'm otherwise occupied on the internet in the evenings - edits out those commercials, and I watch the edited tapes during the day. Best of both worlds!
Just another side benefit of not having to go to work for an employer - and no migraines due to 'evil bosses', either! Yay!!
SilverLady(SO) - Native Motor City and Wolverine gal . . . GO BLUE!! - Molon Labe - Saepius Exertus, Semper Fidelis - Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum - Proud Military Family - Navy, Army, Coast Guard, National Guard
I am a fan of Lost since the start of season one; I have watched all of episodes. I don't watch many shows on network TV; I like the cable networks, such as History Channel. This series has a wonderful story line. A group of plane crash survivors marooned on a strange island in the Pacific. This is quite different from "Gilligan's Island." Lost was shot on location in a remote part of Oahu. The jungle is real and this series shows the interaction of a people, personalities, and backgrounds.
I like the idea of using flashbacks to discuss the charaters' past lives before the plane crash. Each character is unique with their own personality and challenges in their lives. My two favorite characters are Sayid and John Locke. Sayid is the former Iraqi Republican Guard soldier from the first Gulf War. Instead of fighting a war, he uses his battlefield skills and calm personality with helping the other survivors on the chaotic island. John Locke is a manager of a cardboard box company was paralized before the plane crash. Locke has the best skills for hunting, gathering food and water, and providing encouragement to others. He seems to be the most misunderstood of the survivors, often seen as a survivalist and a loner. Locke sees the island as a salvation for him. He seems to be in harmony and in peace with the island.
I like the entire message that the show brings to the viewers. People can be literally lost, but at the same time, they can find their true path and destiny within themselves. The island seems to a place where all of the survivors questions of their past lives are waiting to be answered. At the end of season one, I remember Hurley asking Locke, "Hey dude, what do you think is down inside that Hatch?" John Locke responds, "Hope." "That's whats down there."
I got into it last season, and I've been digging the hell out of LOST ever since. It's one of the few good shows on other than My name is Earl, and King of the Hill.
