Daily dressing....

Ok.... I admit that I couldn't quite think of an appropriate title, so I left it at this!

Lately I have been adding more fem items to my daily wear. I would say it's a little like the thread of "Secretly CD'g". Anyway, I've always underdressed when en drab, but now have been adding jeans, slacks, and I'm looking for some tops too.

No one really seems to notice, and yet, I have this wonderful feeling all day whenever I can dress this way. Of course, I would certainly prefer to be able to wear a skirt and heels, but for now I guess this is a good happy medium.

I wonder who else dresses this way, and how does it make you feel?

Welcome to my world!

A while back I posted that I no longer own any men's pants. And my collection of women's tops far exceeds my male shirts, which I rarely ever wear any more. While I never wear makeup or wig or attempt to hide the fact that I'm a guy, I almost never see anyone give me a second glance while out doing errands.

How does it make me feel? In a word - comfortable.

Well... I don't know about perfected. Most of what I wear would be considered gender neutral though it does lean toward the feminine side. And, like you, I would like to wear a skirt. But, as you said, the slacks make a reasonable compromise. But, I do wear my 2" heel boots out and about with my bootcut jeans.

Sometimes I can get away with a fem top, but my wife usually catches on before heading out the door and has me change. Every once in a while she lets me get away with it. As for slacks, I don't own any for women, but I've been looking more and more.

That's too funny... you get checked at the door! Hasn't happened to me yet, but give it some time!

I'm still going to try to find something in a top. I've seen ads with womens tops that somewhat resemble just a casual shirt. I'll let you all know how that comes along.

Mine are a bit taller without the strap & buckle and are a dark red.

If you have pants or jeans with a long enough inseam to cover most of the heel, nobody really knows the difference. I went with a pair of tall size jeans with a 34" inseam.

I wouldn't be wearing these clothes on a regular basis if I hadn't drawn on Elizabeth's strength. Her ability to go out and be herself before the world has inspired me to do the same.

I've been wearing women's pants/trousers to work (office) and jeans during off days for over a year now. The pants have a left-side fly, jeans have a right-side fly.

I have been looking for blouses or shirts which would blend in but not been lucky so far plus probably could not afford them right now so my shirts are all guy shirts.

I used to wear women's shoes (flats) but they wore out and unfortunately I cannot find a pair of shoes that will "pass inspection"; and if you think nobody notices things, you should think again.

Interesting statement.
When you think about it, that's kinda what this thread is about. There is the obvious, skirts etc., that of course others would notice in a second. So what we're really talking about here is, finding fem clothes that can be seen by others as somewhat gender neutral.

I think all of us try something, if it works out, then we have a tendency to push it a little further. Where the line is that others would obviously notice is somewhat grey.

I did find a great buy yesterday on a pair of misses cordoroy jeans, low rise, flare leg. And was able to find a matching top, shirt style with stripes and color matching the cords. I don't think too many would notice these items are womens. But, we'll see.

Given that I am, essentially, self employed, I have a lot more latitude in what I can wear. If I had to go to an office every day with a boss and co-workers, I would be much more cautious of how I was dressed.

Also, note that in my post above, I did say that almost nobody gives me a second glance. But, yes, people do notice. So far, nobody has bothered me or commented on my choice of clothing. As long as I go about my business as if there was absolutely nothing abnormal and, as long as I treat other people with the same respect I expect from them, then what I happen to be wearing at the time seems to be of little consequence.

However, if I was to put on a dress or a skirt or even my pink jeans, then things might be a bit different.

But, yes, I do push the outside of the envelope from time to time just to see where the limits might be. I don't seem to have exceeded those limits yet. It seems that what is holding me back has more to do with my own comfort level than what the general public will tolerate.

I wear lowrise jeans and pants on my days off. usually with a big shirt. Speaking of big shirts, the big shirts from some of the mail order houses look like they might be passable.

One other option has been hawaiian shirts. instead fo getting subdued tones, I purchase the loudest most radical ones I can find. They get the attention for about 10 seconds then folks turn away and go on about their business.

I am starting a new job on Monday and will not be wearing any thing externally for the first couple of months. I need to get focused. This does not mean that Weekends are off limits however. Winter is here and I may see what I can get away with at night. Maybe I need those Go-Go boots now. White, Black, Green, and Pink I think. Gotta love e-bay....

Those flare legs may get noticed. Only women's and juniors' jeans come with flare legs these days..

I should have rephrased that....

I do have one pair of juniors jeans that truly are flare leg. I just got them about a week ago, and have only wore them once so far, last weekend.

Yeah.... those certainly push the limits, and while it's true that someone may notice, I wasn't aware of anyone giving me a second look. And... I just can't help not wearing them.... I really LOVE the fit and look.

But, all the others I have are actually boot cut. I think the womens styles have a little more flare to them, but they do have boot cuts for men.

I have to agree with Kathy... sometimes I think our comfort level holds us back more than what would or could be "acceptable" to others in general. I also agree that if you're going about your business, are respectful of others, and portray confidence..... most people aren't going to scutinize what you're wearing.

So, I decided to try to make my look complete today. Wearing my Jeanstar cordoroy jeans with bootcut/flare leg, a color coordinated striped button front top, platform womens sneakers, womens Keds socks, and of course underwear.
Went out shopping with wife.... I really didn't see anyone give me a second look. We were at a clothes store, and I realized that the only thing I was wearing that was mens, was my belt. So, I corrected that and bought a cute womens belt to complete my outfit.
I have to say that I LOVE to dress this way.... I feel great knowing I'm wearing womens clothes completely, and can go about my day without worrying about anyone commenting.
