Hi all,

This morning I went to Media Play (sells books, video, music, and accessories).

I had my frequent buyer card, a $10 off certificate, and it was triple points day.

When I went in, there was a sign that Halloween leftovers were 90% off.

The DVD that was on my wife's Christmas list was on sale, so that went in my basket.

I thought I'd take a glance at the Halloween things, and I was pleasantly surprised. Several things jumped into my basket - a bunny accessory kit, a cat accessory kit (each kit included ears, tail and bow tie choker), sequined cat ears, and a white feather duster for a French maid.

The total price for the Halloween playthings was $2 US. They are going to provide a lot more than $2 worth of enjoyment.

Haven't gotten them yet, but I plan to purchase these wigs soon!

From now on, I must keep myself in a healthy supply of wigs. Wink: Plus, once you go light-haired, you never go back (at least in my case - I love Tyra's look or Beyonce's look) The light hair look on sistas works! Plus I guess the second wig would be good for tying up for those "hair up" nights... @@9@@

Now that I'm getting some input from a sympathetic female, I've been out shopping:

From Payless, the "Patience" bootie in brown plaid

Check your local store if you're interested, these are on sale for $19.99. They said it one of their most popular styles this year.

I found a wig similar to this one, for much less than they quoted

A trip to WalMart yielded a black brocade blazer by George, a glittery brown bolero sweater by White Stag and a new pair of Lee Rider jeans (I dropped a size, down to 14!)

Not all of these pieces are meant to go together. I'm just adding to my pool of pieces to mix and match.

At a local bead show I bought several strands of cultured pearls and a rose shaped pearlescent three strand clasp. My wife is using them to make me a necklace for the TGEA gala in Dec.

This afternoon, after a Sunday meal out, we (my wife and I) went to a thrift store and she picked me out a pretty peach dress - a new color for me.

Went to Ulta store and got such a deal on makeup.

They had this advertised in the paper insert yesterday, so I went to check it out.

A 68 piece assortment of eyeshadows, lipstick and gloss, nail polish, blusher, and various brushes. All inside a very nice fold out case. With the coupon for 20% off, it was only $19.95! All I need is some mascara and I'm all set!

Today I picked up two full length dresses one %100 cotton the other %80 both really nice and warm. I also picked up a bra that had like an inprint of hand on the inside for cushioning. I will show a picture.

Saturday JC Penny had a big sale doing, and my wife wanted to get there early and asked me along. I figured it was too cold that morning to work on the shed, so agreed to go.

After arriving, the first place my wife led me to was where they had a lot of purses on sale. My wife asked me to find one to go with my dress for the TGEA formal. There were several nice ones at 60% off, and I eventually picked out a little black beaded clutch purse with a small chain for a handle.

We then went to see what else we could find, and came across the costume jewelry section. So I began looking through the earrings, rings, etc. and found a few size 9 rings that I liked. These were the largest rings they carried, apparently, but just fit my pinkie finger. So I tried them on one over and over trying to decide which I liked best. Mind you, my wife is off at the display cases looking at earrings for herself, so I'm standing there by myself, with the purse, trying on rings. I held on to a CZ one and a pearl one.

I then looked for a pair of clip-ons, but all they had was pierced. I did find a nice set of pearl drop dangling earrings I figured we could convert to clip-ons.

I carried these items over to where my wife was, and discussed them. We decided on the pearl ring since I'll mostly be wearing pearls to the gala. We walked back over to where I found the rings, and my wife found a pair of earrings she wanted as I put the CZ ring back. She then found another pair of pearl drop earrings better than the set I had picked, so I got them instead.

Next we walked around to women's wear, then upstairs to the lingerie, kitchen items and Xmas decorations, back down to the hosiery/socks section, and then over to men's wear where we found a sports jacket for our son for Xmas.

So we spent a few hours walking around the store, with me carrying this little purse, and no one stared, whispered or laughed. Cool.
