Hi All,

Well, it has started! :) I drove my mother down to my brother's house at the south end of the state. Since Mom knows of my CDing, I was wearing my Bootcut jeans (with my high heel boots of course!) and a red long sleeve tee shirt over my VS bra and boyshorts. I had my full forms in so I wore a bulky sweatshirt just to avoid freaking my Mom out  . My brother also knows so no problem at his house when we arrived.

Now, when I put Mom's bags in the car, I also put in one of my own containing my wig, lipstick (red to match my tee shirt) and a short ladies jean jacket. When I left to return home, I stopped at the end of the street out of sight of the house. There I removed the sweatshirt, put on the wig, applied some lipstick and off I went.

So, about 250 miles dressed with the 2nd 125 as fully dressed as I have ever gotten. And almost the entire trip done in full daylight.

Just to end the day on a more relaxed note, I just got out of a nice, warm bubble bath.

Now its time to kick back with a good book... :)

Love,
Kathy

Hi All,

Compared to Monday, these last couple of days have been pretty mundane. Just laundry, dishes, shoveling snow, general around the house kind of stuff. But I have been able to get out some of my outfits that I just can't wear with my mother at home. Getting out the skirts and dresses is a very welcome change from just pants and jeans all the time. :)

Last evening I even indulged myself and got out my French Maid outfit. I think it was the first time I have ever worn it for more than a few minutes. So, in keeping with that theme, I am sitting here in my cheerleader uniform.

I've also been giving my wig a real workout. Other than sleeping, it hasn't been off my head since Monday. The only exception was today when I went to the bank and grocery store.

I must say that I can see the theraputic value of totally immersing myself for the week after hiding it for so long. A lot of anxiety was released when I came out to my family a few months ago but the tension of still having to hide part of it from them was still there. They are OK with the pants and jeans and conservative tops but they don't want to see me in a dress or skirt or wig. It is so relaxing to be able to just be myself, wear what I like and not worry about anyone else's feelings.

Unfortunately, this week is passing by way too fast. #-o

Tomorrow, Thanksgiving, is going to be a more formal day for me. I'm hoping to get an early start with a shower and a shave (head to toe, that is ). Oh, and I had to shave all of my facial hair about a month ago to treat a bad case of dry skin. That's all cleared up now but I've decided to keep it that way.

More later! 8)

Love,
Kathy

Kathy,
Carol Ann is soooo right about taking care of your skin, just like or even more than a GG. It will pay dividends in the long run. NO soap!!! Use Cold Cream or even baby oil to take off make-up, and eye make-up remover on your masacre and shadow. Then I use Noxema to wash my face and lots of moistureizers and other cleaners and "?derma abrasion pads?" Remember the foundation of the house is the most important. Make-up can only cover so much!
How about the wedding dress? Can't wait to see how that felt!

Hi All,

Carol Ann & Virginia - Thanks! Yes, that's why I shaved off the beard. I needed to get the cleansers and moisturizer down to the skin underneath. Once I did that, it only took a few days for the skin to clear up. I've been using a quality cleanser, toner and moisturizer every day since. As I don't wear any makeup, ever (other than occasional lipstick), removing it is not an issue for me.

As for my plans for Thursday, well, we all know what happens whenever we try to plan. Murphy's Law kicks in. :( I woke up at a reasonable hour and was getting ready for my shower when I discovered I had no hot water. Pulled on my jeans and a shirt, went down to the basement and, sure enough, there was a red light on the water heater's oil burner. Followed the instructions and pressed the reset button. It hummed for a few seconds then quit and the red light came back on. :? So, back upstairs, put in a service call, time-and-a-half for Thanksgiving, and had breakfast. The service man arrived a bit before 11:30 AM and worked until about 12:15PM. We had an oil delivery on Tuesday and that apparently stirred up the oil in the tank and caused a bit of crud to go down the line and clog the burner nozel.

So, by that time I just wasn't much in the mood any more so I pretty much spent the rest of the day in "boy mode" doing the couch potato thing in front of the TV watching videos and sucking down a few beers. #-o

Today I have a couple of errands to do along with shoveling the few inches of snow that fell yesterday. So, maybe I'll try again on Saturday? We'll see. My brother is bringing my mother home on Sunday so I won't get another shot at this until... :(

Oh, well, It's been a fun and relaxing week and, even though yesterday was a bit of a downer, over all, it was well worth taking advantage of the opportunity. 8)

Glad you're having a fun week - minus the heater problems. So has all that stress gone yet? =D> Hey, just wondering if any of your neighbours know you're home by yourself. I know exactly how those unexpected knocks at the door can make you jump when you're decked in your finest femme outfit and see that familiar face through the window. [-o< Worse still if they know you're home. Some of my earliest experiences and close calls have come in those situations, which I'm sure some of us can relate to. As a precaution, I remember having all my guy clothes laid out, avoided makeup that wouldn't wash off in a hurry and had something ready to stash the femme clothes in. You can imagine the fun (read: horror) of trying to quickly get out of that fitted dress in a manner that would have made a contortionist proud. So did you ever have a plan B for this week?

Enjoy those last few days.

Hi All,

Stephanie, no plan B at all this week. And no guy clothes on standby either. I just took the attitude that, if anyone came to the door unexpectedly then they would get the unexpected. But, I wasn't really worried about that anyway. Nobody outside of my family ever has any idea who is or isn't here at any given moment. Our nearest neighbors are nearly a quarter of a mile away and they are nearly as old as my mother and just as frail. Chances of someone just dropping in here are almost nill. Also, this is a large, two story home with four bedrooms upstairs. Its unlikely that a car could get up the drive without me knowing it and plenty of opportunity to make like "nobody's home". I use one of the bedrooms as my office. While I was up here this afternoon we had a FedEx delivery and a local lady dropped off the Xmas wreaths my mom ordered from her. I saw them but they just saw an empty house.

But I certainly do know what you mean about the "surprise factor". Had my share of those while living in apartments and condos during my seventeen years in the Chicago area.

As for the stress, yeah, that has pretty much melted away. It'll actually be good to have my mom and brother return on Sunday. Even with two cats in the house, it can get really quiet in this big ol' place especially with a layer of sound muffling snow on the ground outside. Even as much of a loner as I am, I can only take so much of that before a different kind of stress sets in. 8-[ ~~oo~~

Gonna go read a few more chapters of The DaVinci Code before I retire for the night.

zzzzzz All!

Love,
Kathy

Well, the week is comming to a close but it has been a very good one. :)

I did do, today, what I had planned to do on Thursday. A relaxing bubble bath and head to toe shave to start the afternoon. Then I got out the gown, petticoat, shoes, etc. and got dressed.

Virginia, you wanted to know how it felt to have the gown on. I don't know if I have the words. It was an incredible feeling like nothing I have ever experienced. The sheer elegance and utter femininity of the gown was almost overpowering. A great feeling that was well worth the wait.

And, yes, I did post my very first pictures to the photo gallery. I may do a couple more before the day is done.

But, right now, I need to eat. #-o All this excitement works up an appitite! :P At the moment, I'm still wearing the blue dress I took a photo in. I guess I ought to change before I start cooking dinner. I'd hate to stain it on the first wearing. #-o
