What do you mean you can't talk with your hands? What are those things you use to type with?
Well, I'm actually using my fingers - - but it wouldn't come out right if I said that I was '...talking with my fingers...' because it could be grossly misinterpreted!
I that you get it right this time: It's bada bing - bada boom - that's one thing we Dagos know well, or at least this half-Dago, even if I did misspell 'bada'! {Behave, or Guido may be tempted to visit with his case!}
They say diamonds are a girl's best friend so I've no doubt you'll be yapping your way there before too long.
Yapping? You're still ahead of me, dear friend - and I don't yap - - I purr when given the right attention, and meow when not.
my friend,
Purr, purr

Are you sure about that? Being only half 'dago' as you said, you could be forgiven if you're wrong. Where I come from, it's always bada boom, bada bing. Then again, I'm not from Italy, but what do I know?

As for Guido... to Guido.

I *really* don't think your wife will appreciate you discovering the answer, my friend!
for having friends like you!

I'm flattered that you would think I was inferring something 'naughty' but I'm sorry to disappoint you because being the cat lover that I am, my furry little guy loves nothing more than having his tummy tickled. Twas but a reference to your:

for forgiveness - my only excuse is too much wine with a light dinner tonight. {Lesson learned!}

For those of you who may not know, you can get some conversion doodads that actually allow girls without pierced ears to wear pierced-style earrings. No need to tape or what. Also, there are pierced-look clipons out there. Just stop by your local Claires and browse. The converters come in both gold and silver colors.
I asked my wife tonight if she minded if I got my ears pierced. Her first response was why do you want to do that? Told her I had been thinking about it for some time now, but that I had chickened out the last time we talked about it, when she dared me to.
I pressed the discussion a bit further, asking her that it would be ok with her then if I came home with pierced ears some evening. She seemed to be ok with it; never said no way. I think I'll get them pierced before the weekend is over.
Hi Alana, since your wife dared you last time, have her come along when you get them pierced. I had my wife and kids along when I got mine done. And the same gal that did my daughter's did mine 2 days later.
Enjoy them. Mine are just a part of me anymore.

I took your advice and asked my wife if she would go with me to get my ears pierced. She was a little taken aback! I don't think she really expected me to go through with it. However, she eventually decided to go with me. Haven't done it yet, though; a little short on cash!
The other day, however, she asked me what I would like for Valentine's Day besides having my ears pierced. I told her that would be just fine. I'm thinking she may actually pay for the piercing.
She's not sure how to explain my ear piercing to her mother or sister, or other family and friends. I told her to just chalk it up to a midlife crisis. She seems to be ok with that. Any way, here's hoping I'll have holey ears come Valentine's Day.
Alana, did you actually get them done??? If you did let us know how it went?

I actually got them pierced yesterday! My wife was with me, but I still really think she thought I wouldn't go through with it. After they were pierced, I asked her what she thought. She said she hoped it didn' add fuel to the fire.

Sounds like time to keep the femme attributes on the cooler side and you need to do some more talking with your wife. I know talking is not easy, but it does help in the long run in most cases.
So how do you like them?
How did work go? People should have noticed but there should not have been much more said than if a GG just got her ears pierced in my experience.
Good Luck,

I love them. They're simple 3mm silver balls, but I'll likely eventually get additional ones; dangles, hoops, etc.
The gal that did the piercing thought it was cool that I was getting them. She was a little surprised that my wife had consented. After they were in, she said I looked ten years younger. Very pleasant and pleasing to hear.
Work went ok, today. I don't know how many people noticed, but only two said anything. One was my supervisor, she thought it was cool. The other e-mailed me and mentioned that she had noticed them (by the way, she knows I'm CD); didn't say much more. I suspect several people noticed but didn't say anything for whatever reason. I expect I'll get some additional comments over the next few days.
If you want, you might check out my beginnings post and one on long journey/short steps (in either Coping for CDs or CD talk). Am still working with my wife on her reaction to my CD'g and our future relationship. Am not sure how that will turn out. Thanks for your suggestions. Others have made similar ones.
Remember that it will most likely take all six weeks for them to heal, if not longer. Had mine done in November, and thought they were healed. The right ear is, but the left one isn't. Seems it wants to close up if I leave the earrings out for any length of time as short as a day.

I've had pierced ears for more than 30 years, Donna, and mine will close-up, also. So, what I do is wear the starters while I'm sleeping to keep the holes open. This seems to work well for me - - maybe you should try this, also!
Another idea: Sally's Beauty Supply sells the starter earrings in many styles - so I am able to wear a nice pair of earrings during the day and yet keep the holes open at the same time, and this works well especially on the days when I'm doing 'grunt' work and can't wear the nice dangly earrings. I think I must have about 15 pairs of starter earrings!
Alana - Congratulations on your newly pierced ears!! I'm sure you'll love them even more once they are healed and you can wear the dangly earrings!
