Awww, Thanks Jeannie! (--)

Gather your courage, girl! It easier than you think.

I remember when I interviewed with the GGA in New Orleans. The first time I picked up the phone I was so scared, I probably held it a full minute before dialing. I remember feeling so nervous and afraid. I kept thinking "what if I run into someone who knows me." or "what if someone finds out about this." The reality is, a person could go nuts always worrying about the "what ifs" in life. So I told myself to just DO IT!

I'm so glad I made that phone call. Even if the organization didn't exactly fit me and my lifestyle, at least it was a start.

This interview was much easier for me. Maybe because I sorta knew what to expect, or maybe because I've done it once before. I'm not sure, but I didn't hesitate or stutter or clam up or anything like that. I really felt comfortable right from the beginning.

I truly hope you find the strength to make contact with the New Haven group. You'll never know if you like it, unless you try.

Joanie, you should delurk more often. <<^o^>>
I hope you have the opportunity to get out soon. Don't stay in the stuffy closet too long.

Happy Holidays to everyone.

Hi kyra
The first time I called..I felt the same but it didn't take long for the two of us to just chat like we had been friends forever. It was such a..how would you say....watershed event. And then we set up the face to face interview. It was something I knew I had to do, and I'm so glad I did. the interview went fine..believe me..you can't fake it. You're a lady or you're not.
So take care all have a great holiday..and at the risk of being non-PC..Merry Christmas to all

Tri-ess and Holiday party's

Post by Nora »

HI Kyra:

When I read your post about joining Tri-ess and going to the holiday party you brought back memories of when I first joined some 8-9 years ago. It had to be one of the high points of my life. It was like tremendous weight being lifted. All of a sudden I could release all those pent up, deeply hidden feelings that had been intentionaly submerged all my life.
Since then I have met others from chapters around the country including Denver. Denver does stand out as being an exceptional place to be as a CD and in Tri-ess. I was fortunate enough to be at the Holiday en femme in Denver three years ago and the memories are still very clear.

I am sure that your party was wonderful and something you will remember for a long time.

We also had our Tri-Ess / TUG Holiday party two weeks ago in here in Las Vegas. We rented a suite in a hotel and had food brought in. The highlight of the evening was our gift exchange and grab bag. It was wonderful having everyone together to celebrate the holidays and what was even better it was the one time of the year when our wives and girlfriends who attended were dressed as nicely as we were.

Carol Ann wrote:Hi Kyra,
I'm so happy for you, the wife and I drove all the way to Houston for our meetings. We stayed with a wonderful couple and we also went to a person home for a get together with the rest of the members of Tau Chi and a great evening of food and fun. It was with this chapter that I had my first real night out with the girls, oh I miss that bunch so much. Good luck on your up coming outings. (--) Carol Ann
We hope you will make it back to a Tau Chi meeting soon. When were you at the meeting? The Saturday before Christmas we had 36 present at Jane and Mary's home for the wonderful dinner and gift exchange. Several of us enjoyed taking the group's donated gifts to the Ronald McDonald House and the Houston WOmen's Shelter.

Come visit again.

Hugs,

Melanie
