Corset Questions

Post by Aislin »

Hello All,

I am learning more and more each day about passing and living as a girl. A part of that journey requires that I deal with the beer belly.

It has shrunk a little in the last year. I believe that I may benefit from wearing a corset, training my body to achieve the design I am after. Possible experience , to a lesser degree, includes my experience with one of the Black back braces. While wearing one for work in a warehouse I noticed considerable shrinkage in my gut. Enough to help but not enought to harm.

So, What information, websites, readings, and comments do you have to share? I am intrested to know what y'all think.

Aislin,

I have a Venus front lacing corset, but have to pad out my hips and rear end or it's too loose in that area.

I don't wear it regularly and only for an hour or two at most.

Rikki's suggested link is a good starting point.

I will agree with Virgina that ''Diet, exercise and lots of ab work!! You gotta pay the price''. But it also takes will power and time. But we can make the time if we have the will power.

But while I am slowly working on my man belly, a corset does a good quick fix to get it down some for a period of time. I have several corsets and they do work. As does a nice firm vintage girdle, just not as well as a good corset.

I'll echo Virginia's advice. However, I found that loose fitting clothes make the belly less pronounced, and have also noticed that few GGs have the hour glass figure anyway-- they're suffering from the same laws of gravity and age that we are, so I don't worry about it much. I do wear a corset occasionally, but only for the novelty, or when I want to wear a more trim dress than usual. So I answered "in the past," since you didn't have an "occasionally" choice.

When I first started dressing a lot I got a bunch of corsets and bustiers and enjoyed them because they were so sexy. I find now that I hardly ever wear them as I usually opt for comfort over appearance. I do still enjoy clingy garments but they need to cling a lot more gently than a corset. Funny how one of my favorites is now a simple ribbed womens athletic tee shirt. It shows off my shape far more than a similar guys shirt which is either good or bad depending on my mood.

After I went shopping about a week ago (en drab), I wanted to try on what I had bought. I dressed but didn't put on my corset, which I normally do when I dress. I noticed that my posture and carriage changed for the worse and I just didn't look or feel as good as I do with the corset. I decided that the corset was an important part of my persona and that I would continue using it every time I dressed, YMMV.

I have never purchased or worn a corsset. However, I do perefer to wear a long line brand and a firm girdle(either mid thigh or open botton). The reason to to ensure posture and have a well balanced form.
I recently purchased a Crown-ette shaping ship both the long and the short version to ensure that I have a smooth line with wearing a dress. I think that the results are fantastic.

I have one--tend to wear it more in the winter months.

Definately achieve a more hourglass type look with it -- pulls the waist in very well.
