A fashion poll
I have not had a haircut since last April. I am not sure why but I just decided not get my hair cut now it is long (or longer). Now the question is with an uncomming event in a couple months do I keep letting my hair grow out? Do I go with a wig? (Which I have two of) or is there a third option.

Have it trimmed to rid yourself of split ends, and styled for a more androgenous look--Can go either way then and do it with your own. Wigs are hot in warm weather, your own hair feels and looks better if it is not too thin. Just MHO.

Hey, Jessie
I have to agree with Donna and Jadeanne - - we have to see current pics of you with the long hair before we can give you our honest opinions.
Carolynn is right, also: at least get your hair trimmed to rid yourself of any split ends. When my hair was long - I was able to sit on it before I chopped it off to its current very short style! - I had to have my hair trimmed every 3-4 weeks just for the split ends and to even-out the hair growth.
Using your own hair as opposed to a wig will be a lot cooler in the summer, and with the right hair style you'll have several options on how to wear your hair depending on your outfit and/or activity.
So, Jessie - when will we see a current pic of you?

Split-ends are exactly that - the ends of your hair is split, so that it is no longer a single strand, and your hair is actually very thin at that point. Split ends can resemble a feather, which is actually multiple splits all in a row. Other splits can go off in different directions. I've had hair that split mid-length, then stayed straight for several inches, then split again. The more split ends you have, the more 'frazzled' looking your hair.Jessie wrote:A question and i have heard it many times but never really understood. What are split ends?
By getting your hair trimmed every 3-4 weeks to get rid of the split ends, your hair looks better and is more manageable. If you have hair that is split mid-length, cut it off just above the split. Don't ever 'break off' the split end as it just causes more split ends!! I learned that by experience!
Don't be fooled by shampoo or conditioner products that say they make split ends look better. The only way to do that is to cut them off. If you use a hand-held blow dryer for your hair, use the lowest/coolest setting; otherwise, use a diffuser. The hotter the hair dryer, the more split ends you'll get. BTDT!!
Looking forward to seeing your pic!!

I said let it grow, but I agree with the other posters that a trim is healthy once in a while. When I went into the hair salon en femme last weekend (see my post in Fun Things), the stylist offered to show me a book of hairstyles that I could pick from. I'd already glanced at the book and decided my hair was too short for most of them. If I'd had longer hair, though, it would have been really fun to find a cute feminine hairstyle and then actually have the haircut of my dream take place. If you can muster the courage to do this, it is a real boost!

Well here are few things to fill you in on as I have yet to get a photo of me to post here. First off I do not have split ends (my mom checked for me) second the hair in the back is almost at the base of my neck while the hair to my side is just below my Jaw line (by inches) I have VERY LONG bangs actually if I come my hair out over my eyes I can no longer see anything. I hope to get a image for you all real soon. My biggest problem now is do I go the person who regulare cuts my hair but is also does my dad hair or do I find someone else to style my hair. Or a third choose I wait tell I go down to Vegas and have one DLV friends help me out with a stylest down there.

OK. I've selected other.
Go ahead and get it styled there. Not at your regular place, however. Probably in a bob style? Couldn't say for sure, but a good stylist will know what's best. You just have to honest. Tell her/him you want a feminine cut that can be altered easily to a boy style (if you want to be able to do this) by combing in a different manner.
Then in Vegas, you can concentrate on having fun, not getting your hair done

Yes, go to another hair stylist - one locally and recommended by a GG (not your mom's stylist, though) that is current on today's styles.
I personally don't care for 'bob style' cuts, but the stylist should be able to give you a fem cut that looks great on you and can be easily altered into a man's style. A lot of the current styles are unisex, and that's in your favor.
You're going to Vegas to have some fun - - so enjoy yourself!!

My mom is my closest comrad about about my CDing. I ask her advice all the time. The only problem with the styling is the fact that I will also be visiting my 80 year old grandparnents who live down there and as some have mentioned they have no reason to know. What I may need to is look in some fasion mags (though I REALLY hate them) and try and see if I can find a femane style I might like.
Oh yea and you all are the other comrads that I am close to as well.
