I almost always find an existing thread that is appropriate for what I have to say, but since today I turn 52, I'll just start my own thread.
I've been sick for just over a week. Stayed home, didn't work. Sinus infection, cold, flu, nobody really knows. When my disabled brother goes off to do his own thing, and my dear wife is away at her work, I have the whole house to myself, and so I get some much needed "girl time".
If I am sick enough to stay home, am I not too sick to grab something so selfish as girl time?
Or, having invited my disabled brother to move in with us (and he must be kept in the dark - see http://crossdressers-haven.com/forums/v ... php?t=5116 ) have I been generous enough to earn the privilege of grabbing girl time if I am sick anyway? Or am I just desperately rationalizing selfish behavior?
Perhaps if I am well enough to get all dolled up, I am well enough to go to work?
Does anyone else struggle with an issue like this?
Hugs,
Bernice

If you need it, you should take it. It's kind of like a mental health "sick day" from work. Sometimes you just need it.

If you had a sinus infection, etc, etc you were certainly sick enough to stay home.

Yes Or am I just desperately rationalizing selfish behavior? No
Perhaps if I am well enough to get all dolled up, I am well enough to go to work? If you are worried about it, then it speaks well of your integrity. If you thought about it and considered everything and still decided that you were too sick to go to work, then you were too sick to go to work.

I tried to convince myself that somewhere there was rationalization for Laycee to exist. No matter how good it sounded to me, I could always come up with reasons why any justifications were not rock solid. As I have learned and as many times as I have seen it on this forum, crossdressing (I like the term "girl time
) is part of what makes me complete.
Be you, have fun and don't spoil it by justifying it!
And please, get well soon!

Call today what you will - - girl time, mental-health day, sick day, whatever - - but today is YOUR day and that's all that matters, IMHO!

To all who responded - Thank You! You made my day! I definitely needed the time alone. And yes, having integrity is another passion of mine, like personal responsibility, and tolerance of diversity.
Bless my brother. For my birthday he gave me a loaf of sourdough bread, and a tube of sensitive toothpaste. I know these seem very odd gifts, and they are, but it shows he pays attention to what I like. The more I learn about Traumatic Brain Injury, the more I realize it is a horrible thing to experience.
Tomorrow will yield real answers. I feel ever so slightly better, and my wife is unfortunately much worse. We may both be home tomorrow, or I may go to work. Perhaps because the extra incentive to stay home will be gone, I may actually feel better.
Hugs,
Bernice
