Yes, Lester worked for Epiphone which was later bought by Gibson guitars. I beleive he worked in the Memphis, Tenn factory. Chester and Lester of course was the collaboration between him and Chet Atkins another incredibly gifted guitar player. I will never forget watching Chet Atkins play "The Entertainer" the famous song from the movie "The Sting", on a guitar. I was amazed.
I did see them together on some show performing one of the songs from their record together back in 1977 when it came out. Ironically about the same time I bought my Les Paul. Here is a pic of Raven and that fine instrument which my brother affectionately named Lester.
At the time Chet Atkins has a signiture model Gretch that I almost bought, but I really wanted a solid body guitar. Also they don't make Les Pauls with maple necks that often, it turns out. I like the edgyness it gives it. Just a tad brighter than a regular Les Paul.
