Out and About

Post by Alana »

A few months ago while on a business trip, I dressed up completely on two separate evenings and took a short walk outside of the motel. I left the room at about 10:00 pm and returned before 10:30, when the outside doors were locked. I planned to avoid contact with anyone during those walks. However, that didn't happen.

The first night, as I stepped from my room, I encountered a group of four guests. I just brazened it through and passed them within 3 feet or less. Didn't hear any reaction to my appearance, so I presume nothing was too out of whack.

The second night, I encountered a maintenance man at about 20 feet. Again, no apparent reaction. However, as I left the building, I got an appreciative comment from a man on a second-floor balcony. Something to the effect of "That's nice!" It was dark and I was quartering away from him so I presume all he saw was a well-dressed woman. Anyway, that comment made my day.

I'm thinking about going more public next time out, like a movie or something. Still haven't quite got the courage yet, though. Those last two outings, coupled with my Halloween outing in 2004, have boosted my confidence for going public while en femme. Wish me luck! Will keep you posted of my escapades.

Love,

Alana

Good for you Alana! =D> Your experiences are a great confidence builder and doesn't it feel great? As I mentioned to someone in another thread, take it one step at a time and just make sure you stay safe.

Glad to hear that you had relatively good outings! :) I'll echo Stephanie's comments - one step at a time. I don't get out at all these days; it has been nearly a year since I got out dressed (to a CD meeting). I still get pretty nervous as well as you do. I have to make sure the neighbors and close friends that live nearby don't see me. FWIW, if you ever are in the Denver area there are plenty of safe places to go out.

Have you contacted Tri-Ess (www.rmtsk.org) ? Kyra may have mentioned them to you, as well as other resources, so that you potentially can get out and about when you are comfortable.

Yes, Kyra mentioned Denver TriEss. Haven't contacted them, yet. Guess I should.

Thank you for all the encouragement.

Hi Alana,

Glad to see you had fun. As Stephanie said, just remember to be safe. It's a great feeling to get out, isn't it? I've been out the last two weekends in a row! @@9@@ There's nothing to compare it to. The immeasurable feeling of being whole.

Good Luck on future outings.

Hugs,
Kyra

It is good to get out once in a while.

I've met up with Viginia a couple of times this month to visit a club in Richmond.

Last night was a Miss Fieldens 2006 pageant with some good performances not only from the contestants, but a few other girls inbetween the contest events.

One of our new friends, Nova, won! =D>

Alana,

I just wanted to echo how nice it is to get a compliment when you're out en femme-- a real confidence builder. Yesterday, a cashier complimented me on my ear rings, and we had a short chat about them. The lady doing the bagging asked if I needed any help taking my groceries to my car (I declined). Anyway, the sense of acceptance this brings is really nice. Another nice thing is to be referred to as ma'am, which, though not frequent, does happen occasionally.

Have fun at the theater-- just remember to react to parts of the movie with your femme voice-- I went to one and forgot I was dressed and at one point uttered a very unfeminine grunt. The person a couple of seats away turned her head in surprise. I was quiet after that. :-)

Hi y'all,

I finally got a chance to dress completely, again. I went totally en femme; shaved my legs and underarms. I tried several different outfits with my new wig and dangly and large hoop earrings. Even put on makeup and press-on nails. Shot a whole roll of film. If any of them turn out good, I'll post them in the photo gallery.

After taking the photos, I took a drive downtown, just to get out of the house. It was 3:00 am; stopped and got a soda. Boy how time flies when you're having fun.

It felt good to go totally enfemme again. It has been a long time since I fully dressed and madeup. I'd love to do so more often, but only get to when I'm out of town or my wife is out of town, as is the case tonight and tomorrow. I'll probably dress again tomorrow night and take a drive around town a little earlier. May even try a fast food drive-thru and see how that goes.

Am sitting here typing this in my undies, with my nails still on. I still don't understand how GGs do anything with long nails. I couldn't get a necklace fastened and have trouble buttoning and zipping things. They just seem to be in the way or change how everything feels so that I'm not sure just what I'm doing. It seems like it takes forever to get something done. However, was able to put my earrings in with the nails without trouble.

My GG friend at work suggested some different things for my photo session tonight. Such things as changing the hair a little, putting some sparkle lip gloss on the eye lid, different poses, having a full length mirror behind me. I tried some of the poses and hair adjustments tonight. Will have to try some of the other things one of these days. She's the one that thinks I'm hot when I'm all dressed up. She's given me a lot of support and encouragement and I thank her for that. She'll definitely get to see the photos.

Thought I'd post this just to let you all know what I've been up to.

Love ya all!

Its wonderful to hear of your adventures. And I am very envious that you have such a great friend. Now..I'm gonna sound like mom here, but be very careful when out by yourself. I violated a cardinal rule I made for Dee when she is out, which is...safety in numbers. After a triess meeting, I just felt so good and thought I looked fine for an old bat, I didn't want it to end. So I stopped for gas I didn't need. Parked at the far pumps, did the CC routine and pumped the gas. Later, I thought how dangerous that was since we've had a rash of gas station purse snatchings around here. And a girl by herself...welllll! Sorry if I sound silly, but it is a concern. Just be extra careful when by yourself...as all women are.
