Hi DeeDee:
The currency of life is time. Rich or poor, everyone gets 24 hours every day to do with as they see fit. Absolutely no doubt about the time. But, and that can be a big but (no not yours dear), not everyone is prepared to accept the responsibility of freedom to do as they see fit. So we get a job and have someone else tell us what to do. Provide us with rules and procedures. It is easier to follow than to lead.
Leaders have an internal flashlight that they use to see in the dark (future). Sometimes they just see shadows of things to come or could be. Other times, leaders have a firm grasp on what it is they are about and what it is they want to do.
I had been a follower all of my life. One day, I woke up and said, "I too can be a leader if only I had someone that would follow me to both define my leadership and give it recognition. This too came to pass and one day I woke up and said, "I think I will just step down from this role of leader and take a rest."
Those that followed me as leader, stopped, waited for me to move and eventually, they found that time was their currency in life and they would have to spend it wisely on their own. I have found that the right answer is the answer that you arrive at, at the time of the moment.
Time is all we have. Everything else is just the monkey on our back, sleeping in our napsack. When you get to the end, the top of the mountain, all you will need is self-identification. Everything else will stay behind.
Ooops! And yes, World Peace!
Hugs
