Looking Hot

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Looking Hot

Post by Alana »

A month ago or so, I had a chance to try on my new wig with pierced earrings, and makeup. When I finished getting ready I saw what I considered a good looking woman looking back from the mirror.

The wig was medium length curly brunette. The earrings were about 2" silver hoops. The makeup was tasteful, not overdone.

Anyway, a week or two later I mentioned the episode to my GG friend at work. Her response was that I probably looked hot. While that wasn't my first thought, I was pleased that she felt so and took it as a compliment.

She said she remembered my dressing as a woman at Halloween in 2004 and how she couldn't take her eyes off me. Apparently she felt that I made a very good looking woman and has encouraged me to try more dressing and even a glamour photo shoot.

Anyway, I liked the idea that she felt I was hot. Will now try to think of myself that way more often.

Lots of love, all!

Alana.
I know from whence you arrive! I don't completely believe the old saying that "the camera doesn't lie!" I think at times it does. I have had pictures taken by the same camera and at the same time and Virginia can look sooooo hot from one angle and, well, not so hot from another. The lighting, location, background, etc. all have a bearing. I know that several times I have looked in the mirror and I see a beautiful woman, then a picture of her in the same outfit a few minutes later and she does not look like the same woman. When you reach that point in getting dressed I wonder just how subjective we are? Do we see what we want to see? Well as I said sometimes the camera lies and other times it doesn't. I think the key to the presentation is not only knowing what you look good in but having a totally honest, in your face, critique from someone who will tell you the truth. Remember the TV commercial where the guy is totally absorbed in the newspaper, his SO walks in and asks "honey, does this dress make me look fat?" with out ever looking up he blurts out. "You betcha!" That ain't gonna work for us or for any GG that wants and honest appraisal. Could get you killed! or at least cut off!
A few of the girls here have had professional shots made and they look great. Those taken from a hand-held camera by a friend sometimes just don't show the true girl in the image! Then again sometimes you get lucky!
I don't mean to ramble, but I guess the bottom line is having and SO who will be totally honest with you and even if necessary put the dagger in your heart with "You look like a guy in a dress!" However if that is the look you are striving for - go for it!
Love,
Virginia

My new avatar shows the "hot" Alana in the brunette wig, with large dangle earrings. This is similar to my initial description in this thread. What do you all think?

Avatars are hard to see, but it does look good, and I could see you coming up with some very winning shots with that look. How about some photo album postings?

Hi all,

I'm back, after a short vacation. Didn't know where to start, so thought I'd resurrect "Looking Hot".

About a month ago, I took some of the photos that I had posted here to the wig salon from which I bought the brunette wig. When I had first stopped in to see about buying a wig, I told the owners that I was a crossdresser and was interested in a new wig. They indicated that they were from California and had dealt with transgendered persons before. They were very helpful in helping me select a wig that they thought would be complementary. Anyway, back to the story.

I had meant to take my photos and show them to the couple, but various things kept me from getting around to it. Anyway, about a month ago I showed them some of my photos. They both said I looked good. The man went so far as to say that I looked sexy and hot! Boy, that really was a boost to my ego to say the least.

I'm going on 58 this year and still have trouble thinking of my self as a hot, sexy woman when en femme. I guess when people I don't know hardly at all say something like that, then perhaps there is some truth.

Unfortunately, they closed the salon on April 30th. I don't know what they are doing now; whether they have moved elsewhere or will attempt another business here. I'm sorry I didn't find out. When I found out they were closing, I thought I would pass on their names and plans to the forum and encourage our support if they opened a new salon somewhere else. I sorry that I cannot do that.

Anyway, to all of you hot, sexy ladies out there; accept the compliments you receive and be thankful for those people that support and accept you as you are.

Love,

Alana

Hi Alana,

Yes, compliments can do wonders for our ego, but as you know a lot of that has to come from within ourselves! We can follow the four physical reflections: 1. a nice wig 2. the proper color foundation 3. the properly fitted bra 4. a nice, sincere smile.---------------- but we have to believe it deep down inside! I have seen some of my sisters, well how can I say this, uh? not dressed as well as they could!............... but they had the "attitude" and if you were not looking, you would not have seen anything but a woman!!

I tell the story about one of my first times out and I was leaving a movie theater, standing in the aisle while an elderly couple was blocking the aisle helping each other on with their coats. I was standing there in a somewhat tight, mid-calf length gray skirt, white high neck blouse, heels and with my coat drapped over my arm. There were two ladies sitting there and one was giving me the "once over" as only one lady will give another. I would guess the closest proximation of me was perhaps a secretary taking the afternoon off to see a movie. I was not particularily "over-dressed! Anyway, after scrutinizing me she said, loud enough for a few people standing around, "Slut!" Well I was shocked, then pleased, then elated. When I posted this on the forum, I was immediately taken to the wood shed by several GG's. Not for how I was dressed, but that my attitude had been 'er, shall I say, positive - that I had passed! but passed in a negative sense!

Its attitude, but, also how we accept ourselves and we live an learn!!!! I think that as we continue on our own "Magical Mystery Tour," just fitting in and not standing out becomes an acceptable path to follow!

Love you, keep the faith,

Virginia
