Wigging out

Post by Lydia »

Hi All,

I guess the Fashion category is the best place to post this. It began with the purchase of a new wig.

It turns out to be a difficult task to select and find a wig that suits me - all from looking at pictures in a catalogue or on line. Fortunately, many sources allow you to send the wig back, as long as the tags are not removed, and the wig has not been misused. It has taken me a number of false starts to find the crucial feature.

The male face is not shaped like the female face! Male face is an oval, and the female is more round. The longer male face is primarily due to a larger jaw structure. (At least in the majority of cases) All the pictures in catalogues are of females modeling the wigs, so what looks good on her looks wrong on him. I have learned that wigs with more fullness on the sides, adapt to my face better. A hair style that I like is the one worn by Paula Zahn on CNN, but a style like that on me looks flat and narrow, and quite unsuitable.

I think I may have one that does well. I have posted a picture in my gallery here, and invite comments - good or bad.

Hugs,

Lydia

wigs are tuff, as a cd'er I like them all but it was the wife who found the best looking one for my age and face shape. Who else would know better?

Hi Lydia,
The wig in your pic does seem to do you justice. A pic from a different view would help a little more though. What really matters is if you like it. :)

Wigs are a nightmare for me as I have a head 7 sizes larger than average. Perseverance paid off in the end though as I have a couple now that do fit me well. Alas not in the long hair styles I love.

the longer wig that covers the ears also covers the oval face, so my SO says. Yours looks good
