A nice feeling

Post by DeeDee »

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I had told my sister about DeeDee. It was certainly not an easy topic to broach, but one that had to be eventually, given, ahem, the aging of us all. She wanted to see me, but due to the fact that she has a red-neck hubby, I was reluctant to send pics...and her yard ape is on the PC constantly. Tonight, we had a long phone chat..and she had access to her PC..so she got to see Dee for the first time. LOL..it was a OMG moment..."that can't be you!!" It was so great how she barely fainted or disowned me. Actually, we started chatting about skirts and colors (she loved the one i wore to disney) .She did ask about my boobs, which led to a few laughs, but she was great. All in all, this worked out fine for me..and her. I would wish everyone could have the same reaction, although I know it doesn't always happen. Its a wonderful thing to get it all out in the open and to be accepted. I did tell her she was welcome to the contents of my bulging closet, but shes a few sizes larger than me :) Well, just wanted to relate a very nice, family kinda thing.

Awesome, DeeDee...It's so wonderful when things work out on a positive note...Sometimes it's "our" fears that are harder on us than what we actually end up encountering...So kewl too about the wardrobe, girly talk!...Now, you've opened up a whole new element of closeness with your sister...Funny how I too, when I'd told my GG friend, how we'd giggle like little girls sending links of fashionable items back and forth thru emails and being so excited with our wishlists...

Congratulations, DeeDee - we are soooooo happy for you!!! =D> =D>

You might regret the 'sharing the wardrobe' offer: Virginia has done the same with me and my wardrobe has grown because we discovered that most of her skirts and slacks fit me, too!!

Dee'ster,
That's so cool!! Wondered why I hadn't heard from you in such a long time. What was her comment on the "swimming bride" or does she want a visit from Maid-Dee to do her Windows (TM)??

Thanks, all, for the supportive comments . Once you let the cat out of the bag, theres no going back, but I'm so glad I did. Next week is my birthday and she usually sends me a flannel shirt (hey! gets cold here sometimes), so I'll be curious to see if the tradition continues.
SL and Virginia.....I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to congratulate you both, two of my favorites here...so, congrats and all the best:) I'm envous.
And Rikki, old friend..I don't do windows
