Just washed

Well, I just washed and conditioned my synthetic hair for the first time.

Hopefully it will put life back into it for the Gala.

Oh cooleo! Hair extensions? How much did it cost? I'm just growing my hair out normally. But it's all about band image ya know?

Just my wig. It was getting flat looking, so I stopped by the wig store on the way to work yesterday and picked up some special shampoo and conditioner.

Please do tell how it turns out. I haven't washed mine yet but it needs it. Any certain brand of wig shampoo ? No wig shop close to me so I need some kind of idea what to get for it.

We just bought Virginia some wig shampoo - actually, shampoo/conditioner combo for synthetic hair - from Sally's Beauty Supply (Revlon, about $7); do you happen to have one near you? I know there are a lot of them in the Metro Detroit area, as I've shopped in them myself when I lived there. No, not for wig supplies! Great place to buy stud earrings!!

Virginia will be washing her wigs for the TGEA Gala - - hmmm, should she go as a blonde or brunette.......choices, choices!!

Turned out great. The curl and shine are back. Doesn't smell like smoke from the club.

I used Brandywine Shampoo and Conditioner.

I imagine any shampoo designed for wigs will work. The Brandywine works for both synthetic and natural hair wigs.

I've read that woolite also works.

Woolite will work and RuPaul swears by Murphy's Oil Soap (which is also a gentle soap).

Mainly you don't want to use a shampoo designed for natural hair, which isn't good for wigs for whatever reason.

I also use Brandywine shampoo and conditioner for my synthetic black wig. Only a small amount from both bottles is needed; I purchased the shampoo and conditioner almost two years ago, and I still have plenty for another year!

Thanks Ladies for the info. I have a old wig that I think I'll try out the Woolite on. I'll let you know how it works out.
