The TGEA in Arlington, Va.

Post by Virginia »

Well, basically, I had a good time! SL had a good time as well, and to be with Donna again was, as always, a lot of fun, too! To meet Sharon Rose and Kendra was a thrill, also! Everyone was as I expected, very nice and everyone seemed to have a good time and just enjoy being there.
I guess my big surprise of the night was that I got to finally meet Gracie.
All in all it was a good time and the brunch at "Freddie's" was a real high light. Several of the girls from the night before were there as well. If you are in the DC area and are looking for a nice place to go I would recommend this place. It is about two blocks off of US - 1 = Jeff. Davis highway in Arlington on 23rd street. It is one on several restaurants in what can only be described as "restaurant row." It is the purple building. Freddie, the owner, was there in his signature Hawaiian shirt and it was his birthday. As we were leaving I held his hand and told him how much I appreciated what he was doing for "us" and wished him a very happy birthday and he kissed me on the cheek - what a sweetheart!
The restaurant caters to a more cosmopolitian clientele, in fact seated at the table next to us were two gay parents of two to the cutest little boys. Several of the girls commented later about what loving and devoted parents that they appeared to be and how happy the two kids were. It was really quite nice to see!! They did speak to us and it was like one big happy family! Human beings are so interesting and I felt blessed just to have had the experience of that morning.
I had on a beige, low cut peasant blouse and knee high boots and what I can only describe as somewhat slightly more than a micro-mini skirt and I gotta say I looked HOT! But then again, around a bunch of gays - who cared! :( The drive home was even uneventful! We did catch a few glances from some truckers!
Anyway, the entire time spent there was great, I enjoyed meeting everyone and so did SL. She said she would tell me if she felt uneasy or not comfortable, but with all the attention she got wearing that tight, form fitting gold gown - she loved every minute of it. It was her first time with a group of "us." On the other hand there were at least 9 other GG's there as well and everyone was comfortable just being with friends!
I would assume that that is the scenerio at any of the same type of gatherings anywhere, so ladies --------- go for it - you will not regret it!
Love ya,
Virginia

Virginia,

I'm glad you enjoyed the TGEA Formal Weekend. It was nice meeting you and Silver Lady, and to see Donna again.

I posted a photo of the four of us in my forum.

Hi Virginia
I loved your pictures of you,SL and Donna. Nothing better than being all dressed up and somewhere to go Hon. You all looked fabulous. That's great that SL had a good time. That's a killer dress she had on. She's a real cutie Virginia but you know that! Love her do! Hugs and have a great week.

Jeannie

PS. The Warden stopped in for a while on Friday night when I was cooking The Thanksgiving Lamb for the kids. I had bought her some things at the grocery store and the pet store for the guinea pigs and she was picking them up.She walked in and said"What did you do to your hair! It's looks terrible! Are you putting on weight?"
Virginia. I had on a nice silk long sleeve black top and black capris with my padded panties,my gold party knee high trouser socks and heels and I said" It's the padded panties not me Min!" She's a trip!

Hi, Ladies -

I must say that I had an absolutely wonderful time at the TGEA Holiday Gala, and the Brunch at Freddie's was fabulous! Like Virginia said, everyone was so friendly, so warm and inviting, that it was easy to 'sit back and relax' - and have some fun!!

I'm very glad to have finally met Donna, SharonRose (and her wife), Kendra, and Gracie, and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with them and getting to know them better. It's so much nicer to have not only a voice but a *real* personality to put together with their online posts. I now hear their voice when I read what they wrote. My only regret was that I did not have a chance to talk longer with Gracie than I did, she is an absolutely gorgeous and gracious lady. Gracie = Beauty, you betcha!!

I met so many wonderful ladies from the TGEA, as well as several ladies from the MHB forum, and those whose names I remember (!!) are Mary, Melissa, Jenny, Tammy, and Michelle. There was a beautiful lady who first dressed in a long, red gown, left the Gala, and then came back in an absolutely gorgeous long, formal Hawaiian gown. That same lady was at Freddie's for brunch, this time in drab, but I'm sorry to say that I never caught her name! ::hmph:: :( Melissa comes to Roanoke several times a year, and we'll be getting together with her the next time she's in town.

Thank you, ladies, for helping to make my first TG event a Totally Great event! You are all beautiful ladies, and I enjoyed meeting you!!

Silver Lady,

The lady who wore the long red gown and long Hawaiian gown was Karen.

She is a member of TGEA.

Glad to hear you had such a great time at your first (of no doubt many) TG events. No surprise that everyone was so friendly, warm and inviting. That's just the kind of girls we are! :kisscheek:

Arlington is about an hour ride from my home. How can I find out more about this group?
What is this group like?

Julie -

The TGEA's website is: www.tgea.net which has a lot of information available. You may also send a PM to SharonRose at our Forum, as she is the TGEA's Membership Director.

Virginia and I had an absolutely wonderful time at their Holiday Gala in December, and everyone we met was very friendly. We're looking forward to getting together with some of them in the near future.

Hey, Dallas - Welcome back!!

Yep, the Gala was just a bunch of super nice people, chatting, eating, drinking (responsibly!), dancing - just having a great time! We sat with DonnaT, SharonRose and her wife, and Kendra Lynn from our forum, as well as a few others from the TGEA who were 'table hopping'!

Check out the Photo Gallery for pics in the albums of DonnaT, SharonRose, Virginia, and myself!
