A learning curve

Post by Jess(SO) »

I can't quite believe that it is nearly 5 months (24th DEC is our 5 month anniversery) since I discovered My patrner was a CDR, I was re-reading some of my earlier posts and thought WOW I remember feeling like that, today I can't quite believe how emotional I was - (well I can over the lies and deceit cos I still would be if lies and deceit came up again) ---- but I was in such a hurry to try and understand, support and help, perhaps if I had slowed down a little, a few of the bumps that came along might not have hit us so hard.

I/we have had 5 months of mixed emotions, a few raging arguemnets, a few silences (god did they hurt), some fun and a lot of love along the way. We have made some terrific friends albeit electronically, discovered hidden depths in each of us, learned more about ourselves as individuals and strengthened our love and commitment to each other along the way. to those of you who have been here for us I thankyou all from the bottom of my heart, to those of you I hope to meet along the way, hello I hope we can be friends

Thankyou all, have a great Christmas, a good new year, and may each of us continue into 2007 strenthening the bonds we have, and continue to grow as people in our learning curve of life

Jess

Hi Jess,
Indeed it can take some time, understanding, patience and communication to make any relationship work, certainly wonderful forums like this one can be a great help and a source of information/inspiration. My wife and I hope that you, your partner, and all of the wonderful people on this forum have a happy holiday season and continue to grow as friends helping each other.

Jess, you've come a long way in only five months so you should be proud of that accomplishment. Keep the faith and I'm hopeful that despite a few possible bumps along the way, things will only get better. Hope so!

Congratulations Jess congratulations for having an open mind and at least trying to understand - you are to be held in the highest esteem for that!!
I hope that you will continue to find the common ground that you both seek and remember what I have said - "a GG could do a lot worse than having a relationship with a CD!"
Love ya,
Virginia

Hey Jess,

It sounds like you've come a long way in 5 months! Isn't it amazing to look back and see how you've changed over time? :-)

It also appears that you're about where I was about a year ago--around the 5 month mark. We had some tough times too and have learned that communicating our concerns to each other has helped a great deal. I'm also looking at the brighter side of things, and learning to enjoy my best friend/fiance in a whole new way.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
