Ladies, I think that this is the best place to post this!
You may or may not have heard that in California, (where else???!!!) they now have aerobic's classes for guys --- ready for this ------- in high heels!!!
I, like most of you, wear heels on certain occasions, I guess we wish we could wear them all the time, but what I have found and this has been for a couple of years back ------- they sure make my back feel great!!!!!
I can finish a workout or when I first get up in the morning, put on a pair of 3" or +/- height and within a few minutes of just walking around my back feels great!!! The best height for you may vary so try out different heights. What better way to improve on your collection anyway!
For those of you who may have a "problem" with your SO, tell them that they do it in aerobics in California and that the medical profession has found that, first, men's ankles are in general a bit stronger than gg's and that the heels put the back in alignment like it is suppose to be, so you want to try it and see if it helps your back!
I would like to see you respond to this to see if you find it helps your back!
I know it does mine and SL says .......... well, let me just say it has some very positive side effects!!!!
Love ya,
Virginia

Welll CJ you know the old adage, "when you're a hammer, every problem is a nail!" or something like that! Anyway, it works for me! I don't recommend running track, pole vaulting or the hammer throw, but if one assumes the proper posture when wearing heels - no slouching forward, no bent shoulders and/or knuckles dragging on the ground - it will put your back in a more proper alignment. If you don't currently have back problems - well, the possibility exists that you are not working hard enough at it! , just kidding, anyway. I know it helps me and it did originate in California so maybe Anita can shed some additional light on the subject! :-k
My back feels great right now!

Love ya right back, Virginia!

My skepticism has to do with, on the one hand, seeing how my mother destroyed her back by having spent a lifetime working in heels and, on the other, common medical advice that discourages the wearing of high heels.

Plus, I don't mean to offend, but it's not because something comes from California that it's automatically intelligent and sound. California's had its share of bizarre and counter-productive fads, after all.

Here's hoping you and the much-loved SilverLady have a great holiday season. May you both be showered with bliss and peace in the coming year. 8)

Love,
CJ

Hay Virgina,
I am so happy you made that statement my wife saids I'm crazy BUT my back does feel a lot better when I wear heels. As long as I stay in the 3 1/2 to 4" heel I am very comfortable wearing them all day. =D>

Thanks for the more than kind sentiments, CJ, you are such a sweetheart.
I guess to furthur clarify the use of heels. It is a biological fact that men are a bit heavier structured than woman and can "probably" tolerate the wearing of heels perhaps better than our GG sisters thus the eluding to how it can help the male's back perhaps better than it would a GG. Just my observation of what I have seen, read and experienced.
As for California, "tongue in cheek!" and no offense to our sisters from the West Coast!
Love and merriest of Holidays to all my sisters!

Anita is scrambling to find a suitable torch, but she seems to have misplaced all of them. Just in general..."Boys and girls, many things originate in California. Only time will tell whether these things that originate in California are GOOD for a person or not."

"Oh, and Virginia, would you please see me after class?"

V, honey, I'd have to weigh in with the naysayer here--no hammers near my head, thank you. I get concerned about dancing around in heels for that 45 minutes on stage. Even if heels somehow turn out to be beneficial to some people's backs, I'd still question their effect on feet.

Hey, if you and Carol Ann feel better with heel therapy, continue to experiment with it. For the rest of us, it might not be so good. My chiropractor talks of ways that I can counteract the not-so-good effects of heels; maybe I need to talk to him some more about that.

But then, the idea of powerlifting makes my back twinge just thinking about it. Different strokes, and all that...

Anita, honey, this GG is starting to do powerlifting and with the proper training there shouldn't be any back twinges! Virginia would be more than happy to be your coach, too!! :P

Very interesting Virginia
I have been doing research for many years....a few experiments:
A) do stockings benefit leg circulation
B) does a girdle help with good posture
C) do back fasteners..such as zippers...encourage flexability..thereby avoiding stiff, arthritic joints.
D) could a proper wig..or natural hair prevent facial sunburn
Now....I must say these experiments have been going on for years....with no firm results in yet. But I promise to publish a scientific paper when they are, although I think it might be years down the road.
DeeDee

standard disclaimer; no girls, real or otherwise, have been hurt in these experiments

I think it would be pretty funny if heels turned out to be good for mens backs while being bad for womens backs. Which I suppose could be true for reasons having to do with things like different pelvic structure.

Oh sorry Virginia, no snow just ice cold rain. But today the sun came out and went up to 45 degrees so I took the dog and we went for a walk in the woods. Oh well there isn't much for a girl to do.

A walk in the woods! Give me a break Carol Ann! I washed 4 presses today, changed 2 blankets and had to put a new gripper finger on one of the gripper bars. Don't complain! Nothing to do! Come here and I'll give stuff to do! Hugs

PS. And as for you Virginia! Falling asleep in the chair! You old geezer you!
I put a hidden camera in that package! You ladies are bad bunnies! You made Marley blush! That's not nice!
