I wear what I want to wear because

2) It's comfortable

Thank you oh so very much for your misperceptions. I'll be sure to add them to the pile.
Actually Amanda, Dallas's quote was pretty much spot on. There is certain types of mass produced clothing that people THINK are goth. They WANT to look goth and there for wear that clothing. What they forget is that to "be Goth" there is almost an unwritten rule that you must not want to be goth......

This doesn't mean that a true goth wouldn't wear Tripp (and I have to point out here that it is only specific lines of their clothing we are talking about) or other brands of clothing for that matter, but a true goth does with a belief that the clothes are only external. The poseur does because they believe the clothes ARE Goth and MAKE them Goth.

Don't ask....... The Goth culture is full of ambiguities like this.....

My SO will probably get kinda blah at me sticking up for her but here goes...

I know that she/we fully understand the concept of many posers to the goth community think the clothing makes the scene. However, what I believe my SO was most concerned with is that it made her feel like she was being grouped in with the posers purely because she wore the same clothing. She was just defending herself because she felt personally attacked from something that may or may not have meant to have that effect (it happens to everyone, no?).

Anyway, it's no big deal I guess... (sorry baby :? )

Thank you Cathii, that was exactly my piont. I wasn't neccissarily saying that if you something that is Tripp that you are a poseur. I'm saying that people think that they have to have Tripp to be goth. Being goth isn't all about Tripp.

But sure, if you wanna buy some Tripp to add to your style, that's great!

It's about combining a style of corpse, graveyard, and rock to form a look that suites your personal style.

Maybe I'm coming off as a bit harsh. I apologize for that.
Everyone should remember that it's all about the love and comming together as one to promote peace and love across the planet.

Before I found other CDs and when I thought I was the only one, I used the Goth scene as a cover. It is acceptible for Goth males to wear dark make up including lipstick and also hose and skirts. I enjoyed this form of dressing for a few years as an excuse to wear make up and tights and skirts! =D>
