I stayed home and watch the movie about Gwen Araujo. Supposed to be base on facts. Well all I can say I was in tears for a lot of the movie. The pain and torture this girl (boy) went through. If you want to see the pain a teenager goes through because he was transgender and lived opening as a girl watch this movie.

Well I guess most of you were out having a good time for New Years Eve.

I chilled out also
Hi Carol Ann and happy New year to all you ladies. I cooked for the monkeys and then came upstairs and watched The Divine Bette Midler with Marley. My son loves Bette Midler but only knows her as an actress. This movie is a documentary of her life and has footage of her outrageous stage shows. He's going to love it. I also got two CDs of James Brown at the Apollo from back in the day. I told my kids James Brown died and they said"Who's James Brown?" Wait until they see his stage show. Did Michael Jackson rip him off or what!
I wish you all a wonderful New Year. Hugs
Love
Jeannie
PS. Hey Carol Ann. What's this New Year stuff? It feels just like the old year! It's 12:30 Monday afternoon and I'm going down the shop to run 10,000 rejected tags for a local manufacturer that have to be delivered early tuesday morning. This company makes those little metal tops that hold the erasers on pencils and battery casings for Duracell. They must make lots of mistakes! I love it! I'm always printing rejected labels and tags.
Another account is the same way. They make cosmetic containers for Revlon and when I deliver I see barrels of product with my rejected labels on them. Oh Yeah! Love those mistakes! It keeps me in heels!

Hi, Carol Ann -
Virginia and I stayed home and watched the "Gwen Araujo" movie, too, which was rated #2 on the Lifetime Channel's best movies for 2006. We were both crying during the movie, and felt that it's a shame that Gwen did not know how to better handle her TG self - she was just way too young. However, I do not blame her, or society, for what happened to her, either.

PS: Jeannie - get back to work, you slacker!!

A "good cry" is just that - a good cry and that movie does it for this girl! It is the third time I have seen it and it causes me to furthur analyse me and us even more. That in itself drives me to distraction as I love the analysis I can come up with, but then I look at all the unknowns and basically just say, "screw it, I love who I am, I love what Virginia has brought into my life, so just go with it!" I am so sorry for Gwen but as we say, it is the pioneers that take the arrows.
Keep the faith ladies.
