Buy yourself some gorgeous outfits that are a size or two smaller than what you currently wear. THAT will be your motivation to work out!! Any exercise is great, but powerlifting does wonders, honey - trust me!!Jenny wrote:I can't stand winter because I can't get the motivation to go work out and flatten this stomach!

Hmm...so are we to infer from that comment your Virginia is now power lifting YOU? Brings a whole new meaning to that sly little smile in your avatar.![]()
Seriously, though, yes, I am starting to do some powerlifting, and with a world champion as my coach (Virginia, for those that are new) I'm learning how to do it the correct, and safest, way. I've dropped 2-3 sizes (depending upon brand/style) and I feel terrific!!
Our forum saying, "Baby Steps, Honey, Baby Steps" - well, that applies to most things in life, and exercise and weight loss is no exception!!

I voted 16,which is what I have worn lately. But I have also worn Womens size 1x and it seemed like a perfect fit. Still have to get my own wardrobe sometime,
. Then I can figure out the right size ( wish it was smaller ).

I would have to say that I wear a 16 to 18 dress in order to cover my shoulders. Sleeveless, perhaps the 16 or a 14. However, I don't have any dresses, because they are difficult to find one that fits both top and bottom.
Bottom-wise, I wear an 8 to a 10. So I tend to go with separates, a skirt or jeans, with a top.
At 5' 4", 150 pounds, with broad shoulders and narrow hips, its difficult to find a dress that looks good on me. I haven't done much with hip padding, though a GG friend has suggested I do so. She's also been suggesting I try a salsa dress. She says I'd look good in one. She's my most ardent supporter and has made many suggestions for more feminine, lacey, flowing outfits. I still have difficulty accepting that look for me, although I think I would like to try it at least once.
Please feel free to view my photos in the gallery and provide comments or suggestions.

I'm pretty much a 12, except for jeans. For some reason they're too baggy. I wear a 10 in the brand I bought. Kinda weird, men's jeans I can buy any brand same size and they all fit pretty good. Women's jeans I found I have to try them on before leaving the store. I can't just buy a pair in "my size" and expect them to fit. Hmmm, no wonder women spend so much time shopping!

Kyra

LOL - I go anywhere from 14 - 18 and have different sizes for different days. When I get down to a smaller size I've purged my wardrobe on several occassions and will never do that again!! Although it is fun to have to go out and buy bigger sizes all over again.
Missy, the stinker <G>, is a size 16 and losing weight to become a 14. We, at this point in time, can and do share alot of our clothes. She can wear my 18's and I can wear some of her 16's. She's found out that all those girls that claim they are 12's are busily buying all the cute 16's so there can be slim pickin's!!
So maybe we should have a poll on ranges <VBG>!!

I think I will have to have dresses tailor made to order. Ok, I have broad shoulders. Just because I have to wear a 26 to fit my shoulders that does not mean that my hips are 70 inches around or that my belly is 50 inches around........a dress for me is impossible. Also JC Penny catalogues.....everything I like comes in a two or three piece set so I have to buy two outifts to get the top and bottoms? I wear a 16/18 bottom and a 26 top...........what gives? Mens clothing is baught in seperates for the most part. Do you GGs sometimes have issues with this type of sizing in female clothes? Are all women with big shoulders supposed to have a mile wide waist?
Also when are the clothing companies going to realize that us bigger girls want the same types of clothes that the smaller girls wear just in a bigger size? Because I am bigger I am supposed to be attracted to wearing moo moos? What's up with that? OH I get it I am supposed to be a 90 year old grandmother if I am large.

Nothing beats a great pair of Legg's. Cake and tea or death!
