Getting better!

Post by Virginia »

Well SL and I are getting ready to go to Richmond for Fielden's "Ms. Fielden's - 2007" Beauty contest. I picked out what I want to wear to the contest, several days ago, however I got home tonight and we decided that we would give "Babe's" another shot for dinner, since last week, ?uh? two weeks? ago we did not make it! It is like a real nice, friendly neighborhood restaurant/bar - for lesbians! Anyway, I picked out my outfit, and all the accessories, immenities, make-up, etc and packed in what can only be described as "record time!" I think it gets easier as you practice. SL is or was debating over what blouses to wear with which jumper. I told her that at Fielden's she will be under a microscope from all the gay guys and they will be critiquing her so she is working hard right down to the last detail.
Gonna be some kind of fun!
Love you,
Virginia

Nothing like being under the microscope. I'm sure your SL will pass with flying colours.

I hope that you girls had fun! I am sure SL did just fine. My best friend is gay and I LOVE to shop with him because he is so blatantly honest about what looks good on me. They can be pretty catty though so when you get a complment....take it and run.

What was the Surprise Virginia?

How did the trip go? Did you get snowed on? Did the surprise involve a piece of jewelry?

Well, first I hope that none of you ever get "the letter." Driving back from Richmond to Roanoke it was sleeting, snowing, icing = whatever was falling. The roads did seem fine - at least to me! However 14 wrecks and sitting on the interstate for 45 minutes in a massive traffic jam was no fun. "The letter" is the only way I know to describe what we saw as it seems that certain people get "the letter" and they follow it precisely. It says that "at the first sign of snow, or ice, you are to IMMEDIATELY run your vehicle into the nearest guard rail, tree, or you are to pirouette your vehicle into an upside down position in the nearest ditch, that not being an option, just hit the nearest vehicle to you! Slamming on your brakes on an overpass or accelerating on the same overpass will also credit you with following the dictates of "the letter" to the letter, as you will careen out of control and can resemble a pinball on the various guardrails, totally destroying your car and perhaps others as well."
But I digress:
We did go to "Babe's" and it was nice, food was what you would find at a small, friendly neighborhood restaurant/bar. I was surprised at the number of "straights" that were there, but then again it is near VCU (Virginia Commonweath University) and the food is not all that expensive so a lot of students come there to eat as well.
Fielden's - well, the crowd was not quite as big as last year and there were only 4 contestants this year and all four were FI's. I hated to see Nova (last year's CROSSDRESSER AND WINNER) have to give up her crown, but it happens. Rumor has it that she is going ahead with SRS so say good-bye to one of us and hello to a new member of our extended family! We stayed for the evening gown and swimsuit presentation then the cigarette smoke just got to be too much, so we left about 2:30am. Don't know who won?!
I have to tell you that we did get to shop for a bit and I found a skirt -WOW! brand new with price tag $88.00 at Gooodwill, well it is leather, but it is OH SO SOFT!!! A light brown, knee length, and they were not asking the usual $3 - $10 but a bit less than half the sticker price. I put it back then picked it up, then back and finally like a Loreal commercial "I'm worth it!" so that plus a creme colored, soft as cashmere mock turtle neck sweater and did this girl looked HOT!!!!
All in all it was fun!!!!
"Go forth Woman and BE!!!"
Love,
Virginia

Virginia

Glad to hear you guys had a good time. Perhaps you and SilverLady should come up here for some 'winter practice'. We have plenty of snow and ice to play with! :) The 'letter' usually only goes out on the first snowfall of winter. After that, it's all second nature to us Canadians.

Donna,
Well it was interesting, our guest was a bit taken back by Virginia, durng dinner at Babe's she would not even look at me until we had been there for a while. I could see the "wheels turning" as I know she had never been in contact with a crossdresser before. As the night wore on I could see her begin to relax and she seemed to enjoy herself at Fielden's. There was nothing going on amongst the audience that would have been "out of the ordinary," so we all had a good time up until the smoke just got to be too much for all of us!
All in all it was fun, I do know that we will not be staying at that Comfort Inn again! We have decided it is well worth the extra $20 - $30 to stay at a more upscale place. It was really bad this time for many reasons.
We did enjoy ourselves over all.
