Getting a wig styled.

Post by Carla L »

I bought a Paula Young wig. Do I go to a wig store to have it trimmed or can any good hair dresser cut it?

Good question.

If it is a real hair wig, then a good hairderesser should be able to do it.

If it is a synthetic hair wig, then I'd go to a wig store.

But you can always call a local hair dresser and see if they can do synthetic.

My hairdresser had done wigs in his earlier years, and offered to trim my synthetic wig. But he wanted me to invest in a wig block, which is an expensive version of the styrofoam heads that I keep my wigs on.

I have since gone to several wig shops, and let them style it. I did go to one hairdresser, and she trimmed the wig while it was on me. But I think that's not the way to do it, even though that trim was OK.
