For me the exact opposite is also true. While many of my limits have been needlessly self imposed, I have also had to learn to accept that some things will be as they are and I need not beat my self up for failing at the impossible. Extreme case in point. I never be the heavy weight boxing champion of the world no matter how hard I try to transcend my limits. Even Muhammed Ali would not be capable of that at age 53.

However I do agree with you. So many of my limits were self imposed.

Hi, Danielle -

I agree with your statement, and anything in life is possible if you have the will to succeed in that chosen objective.

On the other hand, being a realist, I will also agree that some things may not always be possible, such as becoming an astronaut or president of the USA. However, if someone was to have tried to obtain those goals and failed, at least they can honestly say that they have tried.

It's by far better to have tried and failed, than never to have tried at all.

There is a saying along the lines of 'the only regrets in life are the opportunities not taken'

I think of this often especially in regards to my trangenderism.

Hi Girls:

I received a book recently, "The Big Book of Lists to live by"; Compiled by Alice Gray, Dr. Steve Stephens and John Van Diest. ISBN 1-59052-701-1 Hardcover.

There are 12 Sections containing 200 entries. Yes, it even has a page on "table manners." :lol:

The principles are rather simple. Just live by them everyday. That's it.

Social Scientists beckon to know the answer to an age old dilemma. "What is it in the brain that stimulates a person to make change by adopting one of these ideas at some point in their life?"

"What combination if you will, in the brain, as a complex proces as it might be, stimulates a person to just change?"

there ARE financial limits.
and for some,..me included,..we all have a few of our own inner limits too.

"I" for one am NOT ready to go to some neighborhood bar as a girl yet.
nor am I ready to try some restaurant as a girl.

everything in life HAS a limit...one way or another.

this is one area where I take smaller-than-baby-steps.

Hi Girls:

I too will never be President of the USA. Nor a Senator, nor a Congresswoman, nor, nor, nor, nor........!

So I choose not to dwell on all the things that I will not be and put my energy into who I am! I only count the money that I have and not all the money that I do not. There is always going to be so much more in print than my purse will hold... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: !

The money is out there already in print girls, all you need to do is figure out the best method of getting some, within the law of course.

My Mom passed away Feb 02, 2007, 22 days shy of her 91st birthday. While I was not there in her presence, I can see her lying on the bed in her best house dress. Pockets empty. We never take anything with us other than memories and that is not a given.

To make my day every day, I accept those things that I can control and pass on those that I cannot, because, (control) is just in my immagination :lol: :lol: :lol: ....

I wish to extend our sympathies on the passing of your mother, Danielle. I am sure that at almost 91-years she led a very fulfilling life, and you were blessed to have her in your life, and that of your children and grandchildren.

you have my deepest sympathies for the passing of you mother. I'm sure at the age of 91 she lived a full life. I can only hope to live that long. Truth is, we just never know do we?
