I bought my first bra at Kohls, with my wife. It was an A cup, hard to find in 40 and above. I really like it, but it is tight.
I lift weights and exercise regularly. Not to gain muscle, but to tone. I wear a 42B/C now with forms, easier to find than the A cup.
I like my first bra alot, but the one I wear the most is a cross your heart bra, also at Kohls. Fits great, but I wish the cups were closer together. They sure stick out though!

Most of my bras have an extender as I need a 42 or so otherwise and they always seem to have cups that are larger than I like not to mention they just seem like armor plated harnesses. Size xl with an extender on the bralette or size 38b with and extender seem to work well.

on the down side
One bad effect of extenders is they position the straps closer to your sides. This has the negative effect of having them slip off your shoulders more often.

To counter the negative side effect of the bra straps slipping off the shoulders, you can buy a Bra Strap Supporter for $15.00 for two in your choice of 3 color combinations. There is also the Happy Strap which has 3 straps (one each of white, beige, and black) for $3.99.
I'm fairly certain that I've seen similar products in retail stores, such as WalMart and the like, but I don't remember their prices.

Hi,
At first I bought all my girly clothing by mail order. I used to have an arrangement with my wife back in 1980 where I could spend £25 per month on feminine clothes.
Prior to that I bought my cothes on the run (as quick as possible) in a department store mixed in with other male purchases, early on a saturday morning.
I cant remember the exact year of first bra, but it crossed my heart. You older girls will know what I mean especially Doreen.
take care
Kerri

Welcome to the Forum, Terri! It seems like I have some serious competition - I currently own 43 bras in a rainbow of colors . . . and counting!
BTW, you should consider posting in New Members and introduce yourself to everyone! We're looking forward to your participation, and do invite your wife (SO) to join the forum. We GG's also have a section that is totally off-limits to the CD's where we may post in private, if we so desire.

The first bra I bought myself was a Victoria Secret black pushup bra, 38C... Was just before Christmas and went in to VS under the guise of buying my wife a present... Was my first time buying anything fem for myself...I was shyer back then.. Lol And figured VS would be a great place to start since men buy their wives things there a lot.. The sales associate was extremely helpful and ended up spending $90 on some really nice lingerie... I still have that bra, one of my favorites..
Now I go into and buy whatever I want fem wise... I sure have changed in 3 short years...
Love Karren

My first were always borrowed.
Hi ladies
I grew up in a house where my Dad was always working and I was left with my Aunt Pearl,Aunt Clara,Jenny my Mom and my older sister Christine. I didn't stand a freakin chance. I would always "Borrow" their stuff. My aunts were industrial strength and bigger than me. Those garter belts and stockings were brutal. I would get all tangled up.
You young whipper snappers have it made with pantyhose. I'm sure Carol Ann and Virginia must remember silk stockings but they're way older than me. Hugs girls.
Love
Jeannie
PS. I go way back ladies!

Jeannie what am I going to do with you
But the truth sometimes does hurt, yes I can remember silk stockings and trying to get them to stay up using those garters you had to roll down the top of the stocking.
To this day I still wonder how women kept their stocking from coming down.
Now as to my age, that depends if you see me with or without makeup!

Well, what I remember was once my Mom was out foraging with me and had sat me beside this big rock. We were suddenly being stalked by a big rather hungry saber-tooth cat! She pulled her silk stockings off, made a sling and "whack!" we had cat for supper! She used to take her garter belt off, hook it over a tree branch, hook me up to it and it made a great swing to amuse me while she was beating our animal pelt skins against the rocks to clean them!
So yes, Jeannie, I well remember "those days" of garter belts and silk stockings and how useful they could be!

That's one tough Mom!
Hey Virginia
Nice to see your back. It was the week from H--- in Waterbury. I pulled out all the stops tonight and went with my French killer bee look. My son just came in to play his piano and just shook his head. All I'm missing is Gene Kelly in his beret to dance with and throw me around the dance floor. Oh La La! Foo Foo LaRue is here! Say hi to SL for me. Hugs.
