eye brows
I had my eye brows shaped and waxed, and tinted about 12 months ago and again a month later, but these days I do my own maintenace (mainly plucking & occassionally some shaping with sharp eyebrow scissors.
Sometimes I use an eyebrow pencil, but don't bother with dyeing or tinting.
Fortunately my brows have a high natural arch which helps to make it a little much easier with the shaping. I don't know whether anyone notices that my eye brows are plucked & shaped as I haven't had any comments, which I think good

Keeping them cupped comfortably.

Hi Girls:
Take a look a the dual picture I posted in the photo gallery of Mom at age 24 and myself, age 59.
She had a natural eyebrow right over the brow and straight with a very slight natural arch. Nothing like that which you see in magazines today.
So, I plucked mine to fit "my needs," not any one else. Of course, I am out to the family and I do wear aviator styled glasses in drab, but, I also wear my light makeup then too and no one makes a face.
Recently, 3 young teenage boys passed by me rather closely and seem to take note of my face. I am not sure what they think they saw, but the average person really does not notice the changes to the point of pointing etc., as the boys did. Perhaps it was about something else anyway. No way to know. After all, they have trouble keeping their pants up so to show of their colorful shorts..! Now what is that about?
I work closeup with male and female clients in my computer business and have never had anyone make any kind of negative remark. A few woman wanted to know how I had such a clean looking tone to my face. I told them about having IPL done. Said the spouse and I were very mature people and found this idea a welcome relief to the scruffy look. They nodded with approval and a few remarked that their own husband's should do so but most likely would not consider it.
Hugs

For those "newbies" -------------SURVEY SAYS!'
Based on survey results the one place where a lot of "Partially accepting" SO's draw the line on "our" presentation in public "en drab " is this paricular area of grooming - shaped eyebrows! Almost impossible to hide, are the covering to the windows of the soul. We can get by with clear or neutral nail polish, natural or very light lip gloss, even some neutral eye shadow and even mascara, but those sexy looking brows will attract a lot attention, so as the great stateman and frontiersman and hero of the Alamo once said, "Be sure your right ---- then go ahead!"
Pluck on girls!

Hey girls,
I initially did mine a little at a time so as not to have a dramatic change in my appearance all at once. The down side is that having all that testosterone still pumping through my veins, I have to pluck my eyebrows every three to four days to keep them looking nice. I have not experienced the alleged slow down in growth to plucked areas. Having said that, just a reminder, it's easy to overpluck. You think you are just evening them up, but you end up making one thinner, than the other and so forth and so on until you have not much left and a dramatic change in your appearance. Also it's important to look at your eyebrows from above, rather than straight on. This is how most people will see them. Also select an eyebrow pencil that is two shades lighter than your actual color. This will keep them from looking too dark and darkening your skin under the brow. Trust me, even though it may be lighter, it still darkens the eyebrow nicely, but will look natural.
Love always,
Elizabeth

Hi Gurls,
I plucked mine about twenty years ago. I set out to copy what I read in a magasine. It had things in it about where the brow should start and finish, and so on.
When I started my brows used to meet in the middle. Like one big brow.
I stopped plucking when I developed a little rash. I have never "plucked" up the courage to continue. I guess what put me off, was the idea that I could make a mistake. You see, the hairs in the middle never grew back.
I have seen adverts in the salons for a brow wax. I'm tempted.
At one time it would have been unknown for a man to ask for that.
But here in Aberdeen, men regularly have their bodies waxed. My son and his cousin included.
