Hello all Its Brandi

Post by Brandi R »

I just wanted to say hi to everybody. I am 31 yrs old married with a non supportive SO. She does know about me but she doesn't want me to crossdress. Before I met her I was dressing about once a week. I love my wife a lot but I still have my urge to dress. I am hoping being around some supportive people will help be able to convince her cd'ing is not a bad thing. That she will eventually be able to be okay with me dressing.

Thanks
Brandi

Welcome, Brandi! =D>

I'm so glad you decided to join us and I'm sure you'll find plenty of support and more than a few new friends. It isn't as easy to predict whether you can find anything that might change your SO's mind about your crossdressing, but you never know. There's a wealth of experience around here and someone might have the right way of explaining things to her so that she understands you a little better. (Perhaps they can explain it to me while they're at it, because I'm not sure I understand the urge entirely myself!)

If you don't mine my asking, how long have you been together?

Well thank you Kimberly,

We have been married for a little over 2 yrs now but we have been together for about 6 yrs now. I don't understand the urge all the way myself but I have been reading through alot of posts and I can relate to alot of what these girls are saying.

Welcome Brandi! Please invite your wife to join as we have an SO only section that she can post to just the SO's. It may help her to vent and learn. It is all in the baby steps here. Do not try and force this on her. Open up the lines of communication and set boundaries that benefit the both of you. I am sure we will get into this in depth later. I am so happy that you found us.

Yes, definitely invite your wife to join - we have SO's here with varying degrees of acceptance or tolerance, and who knows? Maybe she'll become more accepting of Brandi - we can only hope, right?! [-o<

Ditto,
Having "been there done that!" It requires you to sit down with your SO and gently lead her to the forum. I assume that the subject does not come up often if at all, so to get her involved, there are some articles now available that are beginning to conclude that "we are born this way" and if, if you are truly a crossdresser - Honey, it ain't going away!

Anyway, welcome and we look forward to walking with you on your journey!

Love,
Virginia

Welcome aboard Brandi,
You've found the right place. Everyone here has something to contribute even if they don't know it. We are (mostly) all not quite sure why, exactly we do what we do. I, for one don't care to spend the rest of my life looking for a reason or cause for my behaviour. I've spent too much time already on questions without answers. It's time for me to just live MY life and not anyone else's.
I hope that your wife can be open minded enough to at least visit the forum and look around. I know that it has helped my wife a lot with some questions that she had that I just didn't know how to answer. She hasn't joined yet but I'm pretty sure she will. She found out that we are not all monsters in lingerie. Just normal folk with something extra in our lives. As Virginia puts it, "The Gift"
Anyway, glad that you could join us. Looking forward to getting to know more about you.
Love,
Lisbeth -wel-

I am thinking about getting her a book. She is more of a book person than a internet person.
