Hi,
I can remember feeling different sitting in kindergarten. My first clear memory is from the second grade when I talked to my teacher, she didnt seem judgemental.I didnt have access to any clothes until I took a paper route and had some money to buy some panties and stockings. My parents would have been very harsh if they ever found out.I did tell them a few years ago and they have not been supportive.I stayed in the closet for many years(I am now 46) and dressed in what I could when I could.I Finally started my journey out in 1993.I had met my soon to be wife and knew I had to tell her.I didnt know how or when.Luckily one night we were watching a show on transgendered people and I brought it all out.Without her support I would never had made it this far.We got divorced in 2004 for reasons unrelated.I dont know if I will ever be able to tell anyone about this part of me ever again. The look of disappointment on my familys face is hard to get out of my mind.

I'm sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience with sharing your CDing, but you're certainly not alone. As easy as it is to say "what does it matter what someone else thinks?" it's difficult to ignore completely, and impossible when the person in question is someone that matters to you.
I'm glad you've found this community. Hopefully you'll find there are positive experiences to be had in sharing and they're worth a hundred disapproving reactions - that's certainly my experience! Just keep firmly in mind that your main objective is to find happiness for yourself and as large a circle of supportive people as you can surround yourself with.
Once you have a small circle of support it can make a world of difference in how confident and comfortable you are, and that makes more difference than how you dress or what you look like. Good luck finding and accepting that support! I know there's plenty to be had right here.

Welcome Jennifer. I am so sorry that you do not have much support. You have found a "home" full of support though. Just keep in mind that your ex-wife did accept Jennifer. There are women out there. It just takes baby steps as we say here. Keep posting hon!
