Something different

Post by Carol Ann »

As everybody knows we have had no rain for over a month and I was forced to turn my garden over except for the tomatoes.
Temp. has been in the hundreds all this month and it is starting to cool down of and evening. So anyway early this morning I went squirrel hunting for the first time in two months and behold I got my limit in less then two hours. There are no nuts to feed on and the only food is pine nuts for now which made it easy. So tonight as I continue the holiday along with Bar b q ribs some brats and a few ears of corn out of the garden I will have grilled squirrel. =D>

I hope everyone is Bless as much as the wife and I have been, my love to all my sisters ((G)) and the wonderful GG who take part in this forum 1kiss

Squirrel season already?

In West Virginia, the season didn't start until October.

Just looked up Virginia's regs, and the season started on the 1st of Sept.

Carol Ann, you did not say what you used to "bring home" those "Tree rodents"?! I used to use a bow and arrow! Now I just hide in the trees and make a noise like a nut - Jeannie taught me that!!!! In fact I use her tape and a recording of her sounding like a nut!

Then there was the story of getting bit and, well, never mind!!!

Sorry 'bout the warm weather and no rain, but the BBQ sounds great!

Love,

Virginia

Carol Ann

Why not use a 22 cal rifle to hunt the squirrels? Cheaper and less noise..unless the eye sight is going and you need more help....LOL...ha ha ha

"Ellie May Clampett would have used a slingshot"

Yeah! But she had that double barrowed slingshot. She wasn't too accurate with it but she could sure sling a bunch of rocks.

OMG I think I just let my age out.

Just the same, I think I'm going out for some Italian, why settle for squirrel when you can have deep fried squid.

Elly Mae may have used a slingshot but Daisy Moses (Granny) was the best shot with a rifle (or shotgun, I was never clear about their ordnance) of them all.

Calimari and Pulpo are good too.......
