A purse
I bought a hand bag today. The bag is black leather with a nice strap.
No one will be fooled into thinking this is a "man purse"
Now I've only got to start using it.

Hey Julie,
At first it was weird carrying a purse. Now I couldn't live without it. My kids were so used to me carrying a wallet, it was a bit strange telling my kids to "go get my purse" or "it's in my purse". And inside my purse is my girl's wallet which contains my id, credit cards, check book and that kind of stuff.
I always wanted a girls wallet, just so I could have my checkbook with me all the time. Ironically, I never write checks anymore, except to pay some bills. Anyway, I have many purses now, a few clutches, and a few very small evening purses that are more a fashion statement than a functional purse.
I hope you get to use your new purse soon and before you know it, you will be tossing that old billfold as just too small.
Love always,
Elizabeth

I carry a "girl's billfold." It is turquoise in color and is about four inches by eight inches. What with all the money I have it all just won't fit in the Brinks armored truck that follows me around ------------ dat a joke!!!!!
But with checkbook and credit and bank cards and "savings cards" i.e., grocery store cards (and some actually save you money off the posted price.) I love flipping out my Victoria Secret card at the grocery store and asking if they take that - always good for a laugh. Anyway it has two zippers for the various compartments and it works for me. It is a nice leather one and I got it at Goodwill for I think 0.75 cents.

I have several purses. The last one my wife seems to be borrowing, permanently. She was kind enough to let me use it a while back when we went to a play. She was using a different one.
I do need to get a femme wallet.

Hi Carol Ann,
You have that problem too? I can't seem to keep a shoulder bag from slipping down. Maybe my shoulders are too stooped? I see GG's with their shoulder bags all the time, and envy them. How do they do it? Secret velcro?
Hugs,
Lydia

Time was, and not all that long ago that all I had, needed or carried on me was a comb, a wallet (with one credit card and my DL) and two keys, one to the car and one to the house.
Now, I have a cell phone, MP3 player, 3 different sets of keys, a wallet with too much stuff in it to sit on, my other glasses, a swiss army knife that I seem to use every day and an Apple iBook, and some lip gloss.
The pockets just don't cut it anymore.
Most men I know carry something, bag, purse, backpack. Call it whatever you like, I need that stuff.

I love carrying a purse on the weekends, and I really like the feeling of not having to cram everything I need into my pockets. At first I thought it would feel clumsy or awkward but I quickly realized how much freer I feel as a result.
Now all I need to do is find a purse that I can carry my laptop in so I have something appropriate for work ...

BAGS & BACKPACKS
Hello: I do not drive, so am either riding public transport or walking (generally). I've got lots of cute crocheted "hippie girl" shoulder bags, but must admit they are not practical. They can fall off the shoulder easily, which is not only a nuisance, but means they can easily be taken off your shoulder by other people. So I generally stuff everything into a backpack and have a nice pink one that is cute and functional. If I'm out shopping, I'll try to also bring a re-useable tote to avoid receiving more paper and plastic bags from retailers.
Peace-- Kendra Lynn.
