Okay...who is watching the Super Bowl tonight?
Hi all,
Amanda and I eagerly await for Tuesday to come..while I scurry around the house trying to get prepared for coming home from the hosiptal wtih our new bundle of joy, she will be sitting her cute butt on the sofa with her bag of chips and dip screaming at the tv for roughly 4 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!
This ritual takes place every year. My sweety would have been one butch chick had she been born a real girl! Being orignally from Texas I am used to being around guys who are obsessed with sports and thankfully being that my hubby is Canadian, I should be glad it is not hockey (as that is the longest season!!!!!!!!!). It still gets under my skin at times. Thankfully Amanda does not watch the Monday night football, just the SUnday games. I usually find other things to do to entertain myself while he is in rapture with the tv but with the baby event happening on Tuesday I am wishing we just had some cuddle time....
Am I the only one with a dolled up gal on the sofa?

I suppose that among the big three (football, basketball, and baseball), football is what I come closest to enjoying. But I'm by no means a football fan. In my entire life, I think I've seen only one game that was worth watching for its own sake (it was a playoff game in '93--I don't remember the teams). Most football games are either a mercy killing or a comedy of errors--Super Bowls are no exception. I guess you can tell I don't come from a family of rabid sports fans.

Hi Kathy. I will be sending positive vibes your way come Tuesday! My little sis says there are positives to the C-section- her top positive is that the baby is not all red from the trip through the birth canal. Can't prove it by me, since I just can't remember that far back!
Actually I do recall her birth, and it was by C-section. I recall a comment from my Aunt that suggests she is right.
As far as the Stupid Bowl (oops, I mean the Stupor Bowl, no---well you know what I mean
) goes, I guess the fact I am posting this as the game is proceeding gives you a clue that I am not into such sports. It is hard to get excited about something that involves sweaty men bashing each other over a little hide ball that isn't even round! Seems to me there are other things better worth the excitement.
Just me. Never cared for it in highschool either.

Yes I too will mourn the end of football. Though that is why they created Nascar and why it starts Valentines weekend.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons. As you are crunchy and good with chocolate!

Beauty,
There's still the Pro Bowl yet. When does NFL Europe and Arena League start?
I like football, but like baseball a bit better. I was high school JV (freshman) and varsity (senior) manager. I was equipment man, batboy, scorekeeper, and extra body for practice drills. Just before the last game senior year one player quit the team and I put on his uniform. We were playing with free substitution and I got to lead off our last inning hitting for our pitcher - he was getting a little tired, pitching a 2 hitter with 15 strikeouts and had 3 hits himself. The coach said that we were ahead 21-0, we wanted to just finish the game mercifully and sent me up to bat. I did foul off 1 pitch before I struck out. I did get a varsity letter.
