I just bought my first bra online, now I must wait with patience. I got a 36B Black with Pink lace on the edge. Not sure if It'll fit but it was $3.00 so I won't throw too much of a fit.

Robyn I hope it fits, you like and enjoy it. Bra sizing can be a major pain. It may be scary, but most lingerie stores or departments will do a bra fitting for you.

Well I'm not going into any stores any time soon, so I'll just have to find out how this bra fits and then go from there. Just like my first panties that I just bought, well a little big.

It's just Trial and Error

mom and first bra

Post by Janet Bern »

Wow, what a great mom. You have a real girlfriend with Mom. Maybe you can go on the internet with her and she may go for some silicone breastforms.. dont get them too big or you will be top heavy.. go for a Bsize.

The first bra I ever bought on my own was from a T,G& Y. Anyone remember that chain? I dont remember how much it cost, but it couldnt have been too much. I had several before then, mostly the fruits of clothesline raids in the neigborhood, and not many of them even came close to fitting. lol

The first bra that I bought would have been from K-mart back in 1966. It was a 38C. I don't remember the brand but it was white and was heaven to wear. It was the things I came up with to fill out the cups that I laugh at today.

I also remember buying along with the bra, panties, a garter belt. nylons, a half slip, a pair women's flats, a pleated skirt and a white blouse that buttoned up the back. To top it all off I also bought a wig that came in a box. If you have ever shopped at K-mart you know it was the slowest check out line from Hell that a young CD ever waited in. All I could think of, as I stood in line waiting to check out, was that at least one of the items, even though I had checked them all several times, was not going to ring up right and that announcement would be blasted store wide over the PA, price check on women's apparel. They didn't let me down.

I bought my first bra in 1973. I went to Hechts department store at the mall and bought a Playtex Cross Your Heart bra and an 18 Hour bra, both 36B. No problems with the SA's or anyone else. Now I always wear a 38C.

That same day was a shopping spree all in one trip, at several stores at the mall. I also bought three Playtex 18 Hour girdles, several pairs of Hanes stockings, a couple of Vanity Fair lacy full slips, three dresses, a blouse, a skirt and two pairs of heels --- pumps and sling sandals. A rather productive day, I'd say. This was the first time I had bought any of these items --- and the first time that I had worn a bra, a full slip or a dress.

Then when I got home I got to try everything on and spend the evening fully dressed. I was ecstatic .......

Only once did I get strange looks from an SA. That was when I went to a small store to buy two Playtex 18 Hour girdles --- a high waist open bottom girdle and a long leg panty girdle. Other than that, the SA's were always either quite pleasant or could care less that I was buying women's clothes.

Well the bra I bought off of walmart, it was a 36B Black with Pink lace, it was a little tight. I got rid it cause I was going away from CDing, but I'm back now, and I now have two bras, one white and one pink, both 34B I believe, weird how that works out.

It is part of me. Oh, and good luck with the earrings. I love my pierced.

Miss Robyn, there is a cure for a bra that is a little too tight, and they do sell them at Wal-Mart, in the "Intimates" section and in the "Crafts" section, they are called "Bra Extenders"! I guess some women need them when Bloating associated with their cycle, or if they start to out grow a bra before they get their moneys worth out of it. They look like the two clasping ends put together back to back. And if you're lucky you can get them packaged in 2 or 3 different colors and with 2 or 3 hooks on them depending on how many your bra's have

Lori A Yeah I def forgot about those, but its too late with that bra, threw it away, it was only $4. But I'll prob have to by some extenders if any of my other bras don't fit.

I'm living here in Germany for Military and I'm not gonna go out and buy clothes at a store, so I buy em online, wait a couple of weeks and get em.

Thanks for reminding me Lori A

First Bra. . .

Post by Wesley »

Actually, in my case there were several, depending on what you mean. . .

My FIRST bra was pilfered from a girlfriend in while I was in the 8th grade. It was a 34B. I fell in love with the size. . .. till my mother found it a few months later and "chatted with me" about it and got rid of it. . . .

Not to be deterred, my First (Alright second, but I kept it for years) bra was pilfered from a friends sister. She was a year ahead of me and it was a white trico. 34A. . . it was the first bra I ever wore out under regular cloths. .

I think the first one I actually bought was at Venture when I was about 25 or so. The size was 36B. . . .

The first bra I recall buying for myself was a matching bra/pantie set at a Vanity Fair Factory Outlet in the girls section. It was a white satiny, front clasping training bra in a girls large, as were the panties.
They were both tight on me, but I had plenty of white panties and found an old front clasping bra in our storage house that the mice had gotten a hold of so it was trash any way, and I salvaged the clasps and the straps and fashioned myself an extender. It helps to be crafty :P

first bra

Post by Janet Bern »

There are a few first bras, First one was when I was small and used my aunts clothes even tho they were too big for me. Second was the one I borrowed from another aunt and it fit perfectly (with a sock rolled up). The actual purchase of my first was catalog from Pearsonally Yours. A perfect "40almost A" I still have it and wear it under dressing. Of course as I got older and more daring, I went to JC Penneys and picked a couple off rack 38B and I was hooked on buying from stores from then on.
