Hi all,
Here's a bit of a weird thing. One of my female colleagues has been playing
EverQuest online (on the PS2) for about three years, now. Well, a few months ago, she logged on and discovered that her character (a female healer) had gotten a makeover. All the characters (NPC's included) had gotten a makeover. She was sorely disappointed. She'd come to enjoy her imperfect looking appearance; she firgured it mirrored her own imperfect looks, in a way. But, now, suddenly, she finds she has much bigger breasts, a tiny waist, and a full, round derrière. She was incensed! "Hey! That's not me!" she said. Anyway, she's gotten used to it now, but she can't figure out why that happened.
Raven,
I hear you. In the 90's I even owned a Nintendo64 toothbrush, believe it or not!

Just over two years ago, I bought an XBox, and early last year purchased a GameCube. I stopped playing my Nintendo64 games almost entirely, so I sold the console and games (I had about 50 games), along with the GameCube (too "kiddie" for me). I had the games you mentioned, except for
Starfox64. They were a blast to play and I miss them now. I was a fan of Nintendo's platformers (
Mario64,
RayMan,
The Legend Of Zelda: The Ocarina Of Time, etc.), FPS's (
Goldeneye,
Quake,
Duke Nukem: Zero Hour, etc.), and Horror Survival games (
Resident Evil 2, etc.). My suggestion is this, Raven: don't get rid of your N64 games. Although the console is easy to find (for as low as $15, used), some of the games are now near impossible to get a hold of. There's a rumour in the industry that Nintendo plans to market a "converter" of sorts that would allow gamers to play their Nintendo64 cartridges on the GameCube (don't know how that would work out).
You know, I've played with the Nintendo64 controller, and the PlayStation, GameCube, and XBox ones as well, and I've never found one to be as comfortable as the Nintendo64 controller. Oh well. Fancier isn't always better, eh?
Right now, I'm on the XBox. I just finished
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay,
007: Everything Or Nothing,
Myst III: Exile (for the third time, now), and
Halo 2. I'm currently playing
Second Sight,
Silent Hill 4: The Room,
Outlaw Golf 2,
Metal Arms: Glitch In The System,
Colin McRae Rally 2005,
Run Like Hell, and, yes,
Halo 2 (hey, who can get tired of
that one?

). I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of
Doom3 and
Half-Life 2.
Like my tastes in books and music, my tastes in video games are very wide. I don't really tune into RPG's all that well (I've played
Morrowind with passing interest; I've never played
The Sims), but I'll try anything. I own about 50 XBox games (which I usually buy used).
I've also downloaded a couple of emulators on my PC with a collection of classic arcade game ROM's (
Donkey Kong,
Ghosts 'n' Goblins,
Time Pilot, etc.). From 1990 to 1995, I worked in a video game arcade. I guess my love of gaming will never go away.
Love,
CJ
